Etc. Catch up on One Piece NOW!

Well, One Piece returns to Toonami next week, and since we're starting rather late in the show's run, FUNimation is now letting us play catch up.

In the event that some of you out there don't have the DVDs or haven't seen the series beyond where Toonami left off, FUNi has had a handy website running for the past few years where you could stream the uncut dub episodes for free. Unfortunately, large batches of episodes sporadically went on and off the site every few days, providing an incomplete picture.

Well, FUNi has finally decided to be merciful and now all 205 episodes are available for streaming. No episodes are missing. AT ALL!

http://onepieceofficial.com/videos.aspx

Go get caught up if you haven't yet, and if you don't wanna watch filler, here's a handy episode guide.

Episodes 1-53: Canon
Episodes 54-60: Filler
Episode 61: Both (first half is filler, second half is canon)
Episodes 62-130: Canon
Episodes 131-143: Filler
Episodes 144-195: Canon
Episodes 196-206: Filler

Note: If you really want to watch episode 206, only the subbed version for that is available on the website.

Acquisition Info This one's going out to all the ladies.

Toon Zone reports that Viz has acquired the classic series Sailor Moon for European release. The series will be distributed on DVD to Germany and the French-speaking countries in Europe. All 200 episodes of the series--the original, R, S, SuperS, and Stars (yes, the series the U.S. never got)--will have audio tracks in German, French, and the original Japanese. They're set for a release either in late 2013 or early 2014.

:add: the Toonami folks chime in!
"After talking to lots and lots of fans and a lot of internal discussion, we’ve decided to start at episode 207 with the “Ling Ring Long Land” arc (or “Davy Fight Back” arc as it’s also known). We know we’re skipping ahead a bunch, but we think this is a great place to start- plus, it’ll be in HD! For those of you who are worried you won’t be able to jump in to the story, don’t worry! Go to Funimation.com now and you can watch ALL of the older episodes, plus there are a bunch of cool little video “catch up” pieces for folks who just want the overview. In addition, our friends at Funimation are working on some “orientation/catch up” pieces we’ll be putting on Toonami."

Schedules Rollin' At 'Ya on April 27th!

Straight Outta' Tumblr:

"Why should you care about April 27th? Two reasons:

1. On April 27th, Toonami will relaunch with a new TOM, a new Absolution, and a new on-air look. We’ll share more details our new look as we get closer to that date!

2. IGPX IS COMING BACK!!

No, really. Thanks to our incredibly generous partners, thanks to a lot of folks doing a lot of paperwork, and thanks to the very unique and complex structure of the IGPX production deal, we were able to bring the show out of retirement so you guys can see it again, or for the first time!

Couple points: We will be very slightly shuffling the lineup to fit IGPX. We’ll announce that exact schedule closer to the 27th. It will most likely involve removing one episode of Bebop, taking us to a half hour weekly. Also, for those Megas XLR fans out there wondering if this means we can bring back Megas…. we can’t, sorry. Simply put, it’s a very different animal, and the exact elements that made IGPX’s return possible are not in place for Megas.

ANYWAY! We’re very excited to re-air, for the first time, Toonami’s only original series, and one we’re very proud of! We hope you guys enjoy it.

Watch this space in the coming month for more details about TOM 5, The new Absolution, the Toonami comic, the lineup for April 27th, and when One Piece is finally coming!

WE WILL NEVER STOP

Love, the Toonami crew."

Etc. A new home for Gundam?

Bandai may have ceased its anime operations in North America, but that doesn't mean we have to go DVD hunting on eBay.

A new anime streaming service called Daisuki is launching in April May. Anime production company ADK is launching the service with the sponsorship of Dentsu and the cooperation of five other large anime firms--Toei, Aniplex, Sunrise, TMS, and NAS.

Notable titles to launch with the service include One Piece (aired on Toonami before and is soon returning), Mobile Suit Gundam (aired on Toonami along with several of its other incarnations), Lupin III (which had a brief run on Adult Swim), Prince of Tennis (one of the original Jetstream veterans), and Madoka Magica. And yes, it will support dubs.

This website will NOT interfere with anime that are currently streaming on other services like Hulu or Crunchyroll. Daisuki will act more as an aggregating service and will not pull the licenses from those sites. They will also sell anime tie-in goods.
