UK fans, get ready to enjoy your own post-4Kids version of One Piece!

Manga Entertainment has licensed the series for distribution in the UK. The first volume, containing the first 26 episodes, will be released on May 27, and three more volumes are slated for release over the course of the year.

  Release Info Blue Sub #6 Brought Out of Mothballs

Discotek Media has announced the acquisition of old Toonami favorite Blue Submarine No. 6 for a remastered DVD release later this year, with a Blu-Ray release currently projected by year's-end.

The series was originally released by Bandai Entertainment on VHS and DVD, and Discotek will include the Bandai-produced English dub in their release, as well as in Japanese with English subtitles.

  Release Info FUNimation Boards the Blu-Ray Train: First Stop... Broly! (UPDATED)

In an IGN article published last week querying the possibilities of US anime companies moving toward distributing High-Definition video releases, FUNimation came out as solidly in the Blu-Ray Disc camp, with hints of a possible HD release before year's end, and details to be announced at next weekend's Comic-Con in San Diego.

This weekend however may have brought their first release to light. A listing at AAA Anime indicates that FUNi plans to release a DBZ Broly Movie Blu-Ray Double Feature on November 13th, at a list price of $34.98.

No other details are currently listed, although reports of Funi's Otakon panel from this weekend confirms the Blu-Ray announcement will be made at Comic-Con.

UPDATE 07-26: A press release announcement from FUNimation lists the two movies as Broly: The Legendary Super Saiyan and Broly: Second Coming, remastered directly from the original 35mm Japanese film in high-definition, digitally restored video and enhanced with an all-new 5.1 surround sound mix. All the special features on the disc are in full 1920 x 1080p HD, including a featurette about the restoration, remastering and high definition processes called "Dragon Ball Z: A New Look."

  Release Info Warner Bros. (Finally!) Announces 'Samurai Jack - Season 4' Release

TV Shows on DVD has information regarding the release of the fourth and final Samurai Jack DVD set, due August 28th. The 2-disc set will include the final 13 episodes and creator commentary among the extras.

  Release Info 9-18-07: Never Forget

Warner Home Video, DC Comics and Warner Bros. Animation have announced the release of the first in their series of original direct-to-DVD movies based on classic DC Comics' stories, Superman Doomsday, scheduled to reach store shelves on September 18, 2007 for a suggested retail price of $19.98.

Produced by Bruce Timm (Justice League Unlimited, Batman: The Animated Series) and written by Duane Capizzi (The Batman, The Batman vs. Dracula), Superman Doomsday features the voices of Adam Baldwin (Independence Day) as Superman, Anne Heche (Men in Trees) as Lois Lane and James Marsters (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) as Lex Luthor. The PG-13-rated, 74-minute-long feature will be presented in widescreen with a Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtrack.

  Release Info "Teen Titans Season 3" DVD Set For April

According to information at TV Shows on DVD, Teen Titans - The Complete 3rd Season will be released April 10th as a 2-disc set containing 13 episodes covering the team's fight with Brother Blood and the formation of Titans East.

  Release Info FUNimation releases FAQ for upcoming DBZ Season Sets

In response to a flood of questions, speculation and reaction from fans following the announcement of the pending remastered Dragonball Z Season Sets, FUNimation has released a FAQ outlining the details of what fans can expect when the first set hits shelves in February.

Among the noteworthy facts:

- three soundtracks (English with the original Japanese music and effects (in 5.1 Stereo Surround), English with  the FUNi-produced TV broadcast music, and Japanese with the original Japanese music and effects

- the first set wiil consist of 39 episodes comprising the entire "Vegeta Saga" spanning six discs (up from five discs in the original information)

- an explanation and comparative stills regarding the 4:3 to 16:9 widescreen transfer these new sets will contain

While certain that some will still be unsatisfied, hopefully this will help fans decide whether to support this new, and for the forseeable future, definitive release.

  Release Info DBZ Ready to "Rock Your Wallet" With New Remastered Boxsets

FUNimation Entertainment has announced that it has digitally remastered in high definition and restored the entire Dragon Ball Z series, all 291 episodes. The Dragon Ball Z Season Sets will be available at a suggested retail price (SRP) of $49.98 at major retailers nationwide with the first set to be released on February 6, 2007.

The first Dragon Ball Z Season Set includes 39 episodes on five DVDs with over 900 minutes of action. For the first time, fans will be able to listen to the original Japanese score with either the original Japanese dialogue or the English dialogue. There is also a special "making of" section for the new high definition Dragon Ball Z masters. Other special features for the Dragon Ball Z Season Sets include revised English dialogue and a brand new 5.1 surround audio mix.

  Release Info Justice League Goes Unlimited on DVD This October

TV Shows on DVD today reported the information for Warner Bros. upcoming releases of Justice League Unlimited and Batman Beyond: The Complete Second Season, due October 24, 2006 for the suggested retail price of $44.98 each. Both sets will contain 26 episodes on 4 discs with commentary on selected episodes and other special features.

Yes, this means the JLU set will contain the first two 13-episode seasons, concluding with the Batman Beyond-themed episode, "Epilogue".
