Who had a more tragic end: TOM1 or TOM2?

Completely Oblivious Guy says: What happened to TOM 2?

...okay, so I already knew that they were going to do the change up a while ago, and I knew they were going to get rid of TOM 2 somehow. I just haven't been watching my TV everyday like I should, otherwise I probably would be more apt to voice my opinion on this matter.

Most tragic end? TOM 1, because we all got to see that chubby little "Bomberman-lookalike" get 187'd on Toonami. Of course, I don't know exactly what story the makers of Toonami constructed to explain this second revisioning of TOM, but still... when your homey eats it on TV (especially when you weren't even expecting it), the whole "holy shit" factor tends to stick with you.

Ok, so, wait, there was an on-air story for the dismissal of Tom2? I didn't watch today. If there WAS a story, what was it?

No, it wasn't on-air. There's an online comic explaining what happened. Watch in horror as TOM2 gets completely destroyed. Check it out here:

TOM1's death was definately more epic -- but as for tragic I still have to go with TOM2, we actually got to see him get crushed into so many little pieces right in front of our eyes, there was no question that he was done for. As for TOM1 (if I remember correctly), all we really got to see was him sinking into that goop, and it left you with questions as to whether he was alive or not.

We saw Tom's rotting hand emerge. It was an AWESOME death scene. And really good animation to boot.
