Well, Harmony Gold owns everything Robotech (I'm not sure Carl's involved with HG anymore), so it's being made for them. _________________ "When I became a man, I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up."- C.S. Lewis

Like Moses before him, he led us to the Anime Promised Land of sake and honey, but because of his sins, he's not allowed to enter.
Especially after his screenplay for Lady Death. _________________ "When I became a man, I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up."- C.S. Lewis

You know, I never saw a man simultaniously beatified and crucified before poor Carl.
In a more serious note, are there any dates for the new Robotech series yet? _________________ Proud creator of the Wikipedia RX-78 mobile suit series article.

I only steal from the best... usually.
I haven't heard anything about release dates (or even airdates) for the new Robotech, if it's ever ready.
:add: Best guesstimate is listed as "Fall of 2005".
Although I do know where to see some fuzzy animatics. _________________ "When I became a man, I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up."- C.S. Lewis

Remember that huge ship in the final episodes of Robotech? The big orange one?
That was actually the SDF-4. _________________ Ice cream has this erotic sense to it- kinda like the one choclate and strawberries have.

The SDF-1 and 2 were destroyed by Kyron in the end of Robotech. The SDF-3 was sent off to fight the invid on their home turf during sentinels.
This is the first i have seen mention of a 4 but hey i'll go with what you say. |

The SDF-4 is just the lead ship in a class of mass produced Super Dimensional Fortresses whose design is closely related to the Thunderer(IIRC) Heavy Cruiser. So there is no actually great significance to the designation SDF-4, it is only a designation, unlike the first 3 SDFs which were designed to take and hold areas and conduct whole wars alone.
For the record:

I actually read the Mckinney books as they were released. At the same time i was reading the books for Gundam Z and ZZ actually but thats not important. There were 25 books in the Robotech series. Nice simple to digest books and not to bad to read except for book 25 which ends in some odd ways.
Lets have a group of protoculture children alter space and time!
Its been a while since i was drawn back into Robotech. So thank you for this |

Umm, the kids do the whole space time thing in book 18, The End of The Circle, which was originally the last one. Then 19-25 showed up mid-90s and they detail the Zetraedi Uprising and the span of time between the destruction of the SDF-1 & 2 and the beginning of the Sentinels/Army of the Southern Cross series, which is books 7-17, IIRC. I've got 1-18 at home, but they are scattered around and I need to find and read them all again.
BTW, Minmei and the Zor Clone, Rem, are the Original Zor's parents. |
