you know, i was going to reply with a rant about my 26.4 dial-up connection, but the fact that i got disconnected halfway through typing it speaks for itself...

How about my 10 mbps connection in my dorm room?
Only 70 bucks a semester...
And this coming after back home with a 56k Modem that was only allowed to run at 28.8K
Which is why my hard drive now contains AMV's and some TDA stuff longer than a minute...I've filled about two gig with this stuff, half of which I had before I came to school...boy, its boring to look at your moniter for that long...

My friend will fill up 100Gigs in a day with a 56k modem, (yes I know it's mathematically impossible but he'll do it!)
Actually more like a week, I don't understand how he can find so much stuff to download.
Well anyways, every since I got my DSL, 2 months ago, my life has been great. I really can't complain, it's just great.

And I think that the wool is being pulled over your eyes...
Unless he's downloading like every AMV and clip on the internet...
And some P2P stuff too I would guess...

Or get to know a music label marketing rep really well...
Both work really well...
Correction...I have 3.17 Gig of movie files.
Which contains both Toonami promos and intros...
Japanese intros and outrtrous (?)...
And a butload of AMV's by a bunch of different creators...
And its not quantity, but quality...

Well, I lived on dial-up for two years and acculumlated about 20 Gigs of AMV's. When we moved, I installed a 100Mbs network and and a cable modem. Life is sweet.

riaa + irc = not mix. riaa has not even bothered to look at irc for pirating so I'll just go with option c.

And with the whole IRC thing...just wait, they'll get around to it...
One of the reasons I kinda don't like file "sharing" is because there's a lot of people out there who are file leechers...all take and no give...those are the people who need to have the hammer dropped on...
And I'm kinda an aspiring artist, and while P2P can help out a small band, I don't do it because a lot of small bands who get sucked up into corporate music make almost nothing off of their first album...and they're the people who get hurt...it's just an excuse for the record companies to pay them less...at least, thats my rationalization...
And Hey, nobody's perfect...and it's for the love of the game...or something like that...
Now, whole eps, there's a crime if I've ever seen one...
Thats like saying "screw you!" to the dubbing companies...
I'm sorry if I like to watch movies in my own language, and am too cheap to buy cable, but I like getting the DVD's...and watching them in English...

The problem with my Gigabit switch (just ordered) is my computer is the only computer with a Gigbit card, but it makes for some nice bandwith when hosting multiplayer games.
