Virtually all production has ceased on Nickelodeon's biggest power player, Klasky-Csupo Productions. K-C shows are getting sagging ratings (not to mention their box office flop Rugrats Go Wild), so Nick has decided NOT to pick up any new episodes of any K-C series except for All Growed Up, but the network only picked up 8 episodes. (Another series, The Immigrants, is getting only 6 episodes and is heading to Spike TV.)

Also, since ratings = $ and the ratings are low, a lot of workers are going to be laid off as a result, and most of the survivors (the ones who weren't laid off) are going to be given reduced work hours. The company's possible bankruptcy is damn near close to imminent.

For some reason I'm happy about this. Only for the sole fact that Klasky sold itself out so bad. They used rugrats as thier cashcow for close to 10 years. It's old, the kids should be going through college by now, give up the GODDAMN SHOW.

They did however create alot of great series like the original Doug, which somehow I still enjoy every time I manage to see it. Hopefully Nick might get the hint and...oh I don't know....stop sucking ass?

Agreed. This franchise went on for far too damn long. I'm glad the whole thing is gonna be over soon.

Hell maybe this will make them revive the AWESOME Duckman. I mean, Spike TV revived Ren and Stimpy and Duckman looks like it musta cost a maximum of $20 per episode.

Also, Jason Alexander and KFC parted ways so you KNOW he needs the money.

I'm personally glad that Klasky-Csupo is dying. Nickelodeon gave them way too much of the star treatment--even at times when they didn't deserve it--and hardly gave the non-K-C-produced Nicktoons a chance to shine.

i actualy caught a duckman episode a couple of weeks back late at night on comedy central. It was so funny, i wish someone would bring it back. And Rocko gets funnier as you ge older beacause of all the more mature jokes hidden in there, kinda like disney movies.

peace

UPDATE:

Klasky-Csupo Is NOT Going Bankrupt, Nickelodeon Says

When Nickheads.net (which is not connected with Nickelodeon) posted news that Klasky-Csupo was only getting an order from Nick for eight episodes of the Rugrats spinoff All Growed Up, and thereby was laying off lots of employees, Animation World Network asked reps at Nickelodeon and Klasky-Csupo to respond.

A Nick rep replied to AWN, "Nickelodeon has ordered a total of 25 episodes (additional 12) of All Growed Up. We have also just green-lit a pilot from Klasky called, What's Cooking?. K-C is invigorating their development pipeline, and we look forward to producing the next generation of K-C hits. The other long-running K-C Nicktoons, which remain popular in the Nielsens, have completed production, having reached or gone beyond the standard total number of episodes for self-syndication."

Terry Thoren, CEO of K-C, responded, "Nick ordered 10 more episodes of All Growed Up, and we have two other series in development with them. The other shows temporarily ceased production because we have produced a huge quantity of each, and it will take some time before all of them air on Nick. This is not to say that Nick won’t order more shows in the future.

"When the children’s market shifted and the networks began cutting back their orders," Thoren continued, "We built a new division of the company called Global Tantrum. This area of the company focuses on developing and producing content for adults. Along with the current production of The Immigrants on TNN, we have 32 new series in development. These shows are targeted to the Viacom networks MTV, TNN, VH1, Comedy Central, Showtime, UPN, and CBS. It is only a matter of minutes before we are lined up with show orders at the pace that we have enjoyed in the past."

So, it looks like Klasky-Csupo will stay around after all.

WHY MUST WE BE PUNISHED?!?

I have revised this, because there are a few mistakes:

(For some reason I'm happy about this. Only for the sole fact that Klasky sold itself out so bad. They used rugrats as thier cashcow for close to 10 years. It's old, the kids should be going through college by now, give up the GODDAMN SHOW. [AMEN TO THAT]

They did [not create] the original Doug, which somehow I still enjoy every time I manage to see it. Hopefully Nick might get the hint and...oh I don't know....stop sucking ass?)

Klasky-Csupo did not create the original Doug, or else it would have been crap like any other of their doings and would not have been picked up by Disney. It was created by someone other than K-C's animators and was produced by Jumbo! entertainment.

As long at there are 5-12 year old kids there will always be ratings for Nick. They will just keep releasing some stupid show that will statisfy them for a while.

Some shows on Nick have even reduced them to doing a 10 minute fart joke skit that ends with a shrimp that did all the farting. But if this what kids find funny it will bring in ratings.

Just check out www.nick.com to see what i mean.
