Richly romantic aerial action/adventure series to launch at 10pm Eastern on Monday, March 8.
TechTV proudly announces the acquisition of Gonzo Studio's stunning 10th anniversary anime series "Last Exile." Licensed from Geneon, the first thirteen episodes of "Last Exile" will premiere in special prime time hours of "Anime Unleashed" starting Monday, March 8.
Adventure in the skies
In this richly romantic action/adventure fantasy, an aerial epic unfolds between two countries gripped in an eternal war of magnificent air battleships, noble generals, and a mysterious war-mediating guild.
On top of this lavish retro-future backdrop, we follow the lives of a young heroic duo, Claus and Lavie. Orphaned children of great explorers, their only means of survival are their mechanical skills, a prodigious small courier plane, and their streetwise wit.
Suddenly caught in the covert intrigue of battle due to the unsuccessful delivery of an important young girl, the two are thrust into an adventure that takes them to the heights of courage as they narrowly escape disaster and uncover the remarkable power behind the greatest of flying machines. This secret leads them into the maw of the most feared turbulent storm of them all -- a vast permanent tempest known only as "The Grand Steam" -- where both Claus and Lavie's fathers lost their lives and where the destiny of everyone lies in secret.
With signature 2-D and 3-D animation and a stunning attention to fantasy detail, "Last Exile" takes us to a place never before dreamed of in the vast reaches of the blue heavens. It is both an aristocratic dystopian future story and a deeply thoughtful political fable wrapped in the brilliant design and movement of Japan's top anime talent.
But most importantly, "Last Exile" is the story of two young heroes struggling through the complexities of war and unraveling the many-layered plans, horrors, and secrets of their world. It is their destiny to fulfill their dreams and that of their fathers and ultimately change the face of the skies forever.
I saw the fansubs when #Anime-Kraze was doing them back last year and I must say, its a fucking awsome series. If you have TechTV, you're in for a treat. Any comments?

Everyone who can should watch.
Beautiful series, even if you are three weeks late with the news. _________________ "When I became a man, I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up."- C.S. Lewis
