A friendly word of advice: don't bother.
The clips are made to run in QuickTime.

There is, it's called Avid or Final Cut.

If you want to get QuickTime videos into Windows Movie Maker:
1) Get QuickTime Pro.
2) Export the movie to uncompressed AVI (RGB) format
3) Import that into Windows Movie Maker

You could use QuickTime Pro to make movies, too. Wink
But if you follow the Google links I posted, you should find some freeware to convert .mov to .avi, if you insist on doing so.

Short of piracy? No. You'll have to pay.

You could put on your eyepatch and pegleg, grab your parrot and cutlass, and say "Arrrr!", but I'm not resposible for any negative consequences that befall you.

What bothers me about that question is that I really, REALLY feel like I should know the answer to it.

You don't HAVE to donate anything, but it is encouraged.

Sounds like you're in for an adventure. Enjoy the ride. Wink
