Uhm, Daikun? Roti is an Indian flatbread. Apparently, the restaurant served it with a tziziki-style dip.

I'll admit it: I didn't remember what the name of the yogurt was. Embarassed I did an Internet search for Indian food (the restaurant I went to doesn't have its own website), and while I was looking at one of the menus, I saw the word "Roti" in one of the names. I thought that was it because my memory was blurry.

I know the food went by another name. It wasn't tziziki, or anywhere close to that word. I can't remember...

EDIT: I just called the restaurant. It's called "Raita." That's it!

I thought it might be...wasn't sure, though. That's where the google.com comes in handy: Wink

To clear things up:

Roti = Bread
Raita = Dip

The old man was the king of weird stuff; growing up through WW 2 apparently meant that NOTHING went to waste when the family butchered their animals for the winter. Old habits die hard. Razz
Although I have to admit, the snapping turtle chowder he made once was pretty tasty, if a bit chewy.

I don't know if this is an odd food, but I've gotten bad reactions from this.

I LOVE to eat big ham and muesnter cheese sandwiches(on cuban, or "regular" bread) and dip them in warm milk with sugar.
It is soo good.
It's what I basically live off of.

peace

Sometimes I get bored of dipping French fries in typical ketchup. It tastes good, but it's just so typical. So I like trying different dips for experimentation.

Here are the following I've tried so far:

Ice cream/Milkshakes
Soda
Mustard (Only honey mustard works.)
Salad dressing
Avocado/Guacamole (Doesn't have much of a taste. Confused)
BBQ sauce
Sour cream
Sour cream w/ chives
Cranberry sauce
Steak sauce
Applesauce
Strawberry lemonade
Mandarin orange
Hamburgers (Why have them on the side when you can have them inside? Wink They make a great topping.)

I haven't tried mayonaisse yet, unfortunately. For those of you expecting me to use the infamous Pulp Fiction reference, sorry to bring your hopes down. I'll be sure to try that dip (and several others) later.

I have a friend that lieks ketchup with every, in fact he likes everything with everything. He must be crazy.

He eats ketchup with scrambled eggs(yes KETCHUP with scrambled eggs)

And he like to mix orange juice with coke. Says it taste like seltzer water.
What a whackster.

There's nothing wrong with ketchup on scrambled eggs. I and many other people I know have had it before. It's not bad.

Ketchup and Eggs are actually a fairly common combination. Tabasco and Eggs are just about as common.

Try french fries with white vinegar.

I enjoy squid, myself. It's good stuffed in a gravy. Not squirmy or anything. Just good.

Oh yeah...the Chinese restaurant 3 doors down from the comic book shop also serves a Korean spicy squid dinner, nice and red chili-hot. Good thing they make their own kimchee to help quench the fire. Very Happy
