I suppose it's time we created talkback threads for the return of Toonami.

This thread is dedicated to discussions of the long-running Bleach, continuing its run from the Adult Swim Action lineup.

It's kinda like Yu Yu Hakusho, only no extra edits had to be made.

Enjoy episode 255, "Final Chapter: Zanpakuto's Unknown Tales," tonight at midnight. Only Toonami.

haven't really seen much of bleach, so i can't say what was going on much, but it held my attention, and it seemed pretty good. the rain falling at the end seemed a bit cliche to me, for some reason.

So I'm confused. At this point in the anime, have they finished with Aizen yet or is this more side story filler?

This is a filler arc.

No, they're not finished with Aizen yet. He'll return in the next arc (which is about 11 episodes from now).

Nope. The Zanpakuto arc is a filler arc, and we're still in the middle of it.

This is episode 255; the canon material continues in episode 266.

This is why I stopped watching so long ago. Although, while I did enjoy this arc, most of them are really bad. Pretty much why I switched to reading the manga. But if toonami needs ratings, I'll leave it on my dvr.

I could've sworn this arc was done. But, apparently it's not. Jeebus, Kubo certainly knows how to draw things out!

Also, this was episode 255... well, we got about 111 episodes until we reach the final episode! Shocked

Man the Big 3 need a KAI treatment, cut those damned fillers out! Very Happy

But then again Fillers for current animes now a days are really more manageable compared to DBZ when filler material would be meshed with canon material (save for the Garlic Jr. and Other World Tournament Arcs) and you would literally have to fast forward through some parts of an episode.

Now filler is completely divided into arcs and separate episodes so they don't interfere with the canon material, that way if you just want to skip it you can without missing some important piece of canon material meshed in.

It's not really Kubo's fault; he has little involvement with the production of the anime. This is just standard practice when it comes to anime adaptations of manga. They don't want to catch up with the manga too quickly and run out of material, so they come up with filler in the meantime.

Bump, Might as well talk about last night's episode too.

This filler arc is kind of dragging its heels though at this point, really should've ended when muramasa died really wanting to get back in track with the canon now. as for the episode itself, It was ok. some fanservice and a nice but short fight between the hallow zanpakuto and Ichigo. hopefully they reveal where the rest of this arc is going soon enough...

i think Renji's quote sums it up the best for me:

"kind of a relief it's finally over."
