Well, from hearing the latest news in either IGNPS2, AoD (Anime On DVD) & ANN (Anime News Network). They've stated that another anime'll be on it's way this October to Cartoon Network. Titled; Fullmetal Alchemist (Hagane no Renkin Jutsushi. In Japan). The anime's been licensed by FUNimation. So you might expect to see some promos during June-September.

Toonami hasn't done promos months in advance since Tenchi. It's gotten to the point that I only know if a new show is coming by coming to this website. Sad, really. The promos are awesome.

So I say, don't expect promos until October.

So will this be AS or Toonami? FMA seems like Detective Conan- the sort of show that's targeted at the younger/family set (5:30 timeslot, somewhere around there at least- took over SEED's slot last fall), but that's a bit much for what FOX or WB would want. That became clear around episode... 7 or 8 was it?

Now we just need an announcement on the manga.

It's too early to tell right now.

It may end up on [as], but I believe FUNi will be lobbying hard and doing its damnedest to get it Toonami-ized, esp. with all the game and merchandise tie-ins they expect.

That's what I'm wondering about(need to stop cutting self off). It'll be interesting to find out how Conan does there. Inuyasha seemed to work out well enough.

I wouldn't say that FMA is like Detective Conan. If it does end up going to Toonami then they should switch because FMA is way more adult than Detective Conan. The show would be massacred on Toonami, especially with all of the religious themes in it. If they couldn't say Megadeus because it's a greek god then they can't have this show.

It's not greek first off, second it's latin, and third it's christian/catholic. It very well could be that CN and Toonami have changed enough since the original airing of Big O that it very well could be possible. If I read the cards right CN has come up with a new logo for itself, maybe that's a sign that they're willing to push the envelope a bit even more now.

didnt they say Megadeus on Big O?

what the hell is FMA about anyhow....very cool name for a series by the way.

The thing about flashy promos is true....the last big one i saw was Tenchi and the return of Gundam Wing.

Has CN abandoned Tenchi completely? or are they just putting it on the backburner til it is completed its time in Japan?

isnt Toonami on exactly before AS now? so it really doesnt matter where they put FMA does it? or is Toonami coming back to its original slot?

What's FMA about? Hmm... I'll do a quick, poorly written writeup. Hope it helps.

Note: These aren't really spoilers, since all the items in here are explained early on. Sorry if anyone considers them to be so.

FMA is about two alchemists, Edward and Alphonse Elric. When they were young their mother died, and they tried to bring her back using alchemy. It didn't work, and Ed lost an arm and a leg, and Al lost his body. Al's body ended up in a suit of armor, and Ed was able to get "auto-mail" (see it and it'll make sense) for his lost limbs. In order to get his limbs and Al's body back, Ed joins the military and became a state alchemist/nationally certified (official sources use the latter term), meaning he works for the government and has access to massive libraries of information on alchemy. The two set out looking for the Philosipher's (i cant spel) stone, and FMA is about that quest (as of now).

It's a pretty good show. The first impressions were that it was a more action oriented show with some comedy thrown in, but by episode 7, you realize there's much more to it. What's amazing is that it can go from over the top humor to serious and sad in a few minutes, something you don't see often (please tell me if there's others like this- the episode with Mustang vs. Ed or episode 7(or was it 8?) are the main examples i'm thinking of). There's also a great cast of characters and interesting storyline, which branches out beyond the "find the object that will do all kinds of great stuff" theme.

There's also has a great soundtrack here, with OPs and EDs by such groups as L'Arc~en~Ciel, Porno Grafiti, and YeLLOW Generation, to name a few.

Watch it when it comes on. It'll be good.

There is the possibility of me being wrong...something to ask Lance about.

lol, I'll just have to switch groups.... I am a little sad but maybe I'll get lucky again... like I did with SEED. Also Roy Mustang = Win and Hawkeye = Goddess
I also wonder why they have the 2nd opening on the site instead of the 1st...
