Post subject: Big O 2 - What does the "O" stand for anyway?
|
|
|
|
The second set of 13 episodes of Big O started airing in Japan on the second of January. Don't really know whole lot about the new story right now, but if you want to see some clips from episode 14 (the first in the second series), go here: http://www.anzwers.org/free/animeintro/bigo.html _________________ Rycel's Death Count on this board: 7

There's already a Big O 2 thread in this section of the forum.
However, if you added a post to an old thread it might get locked by a mod. (You know who you are.)
Love the music. Big O 2 is one of Beefy's top five anime titles that I'd kill to see. _________________ "Robots don't say 'ye'."

Yeah, but it's buried way back there. Besides, I get annoyed when people bring back old topics after they've been buried pages back for months at a time, so it would be hypocritical if I did it. Otherwise we'd have never-ending threads that go on for thousands of pages, and that's just as wasteful of space, isn't it? (Really. I don't know the actual details of space usage on boards, but I'd guess that 1 thread at a size of X takes up just as much space as 2 threads of size X/2. Please correct me if I'm wrong.) _________________ Rycel's Death Count on this board: 7

You think you're smart don't you.
Anyways, message boards take up miniscule bandwidth, so said Tyler a while back. And it's just simpler with a new topic. Discuss all Big O 2 here. It's not a big deal people. _________________ anime is teh s uck

I'm not going to argue with Tyler.
It just seems like everything eats up bandwidth when you have a 33.6 modem. _________________ "Robots don't say 'ye'."

Just saw the clip where the Big O pounds on those three Megadueses, very kick ass and it looks like the animation has improved somewhat from the previous series. _________________ The Mighty King of Bad Ideas |

It still looks like Batman with a mech... But, as I haven't seen much, I will hold off on any judegement.
What's the deal with those three bots attacking in ep 14 intro though? Doesn't make much sense. _________________ Ice cream has this erotic sense to it- kinda like the one choclate and strawberries have.

Like that's a bad thing? I don['t know if it's still the same studio as before (probably, but I don't know) but since they were the studio that did alot of work on TNBA and BB (especially the Return of the Joker, they storyboarded and animated several scenes) I think they probably have one of the best understandings of what american audiences like in their action animation.[/quote] _________________ "Veni. Isn't that actually what Peter actually says in the promo "one part batman, one part giant city smashing robot"? |

Yeah, it was made by the same Japanese studio that produced the "new" Batman TV series. And it shows.
I think the O stands for Opium. _________________ "KUSANAGI!" |

The three Megadeus in the start are of unknown origin, they are likely from a foreign country as it would be weird to have that many Megadeus in one area (about 6, including Big Duo).
This is actually a fight that Big O didn't fare so well, it lost an arm and took a few other hits, also those enemy Megadeus were mighty tough, they all took a hit from one of those piledriver arms and kept moving (that's amazing considering what those things did to Dorothy I and Big Duo).
The best thing about this new season, the final Big is going to make an appearance, it might also explain one thing, how many damn Bigs were there, that one scene in episode 13 showed hundreds of the type like Big Duo flying by. _________________ The Mighty King of Bad Ideas |
