This is, as far as I know, the first time that the 'Announcement' feature has been used to start a topic. Wonder what it'll do . . .

Anyways, it has come to the attention of the Mods that all of us here on the Infolink forums have been exceptionally pissy towards n00bs as of late. We should all, first off, keep in mind that, for example, when Slim first came here he pissed the crap out of me, but he is no longer a nuisance. People CAN change. They just have to have the right environment.

So there is a new rule, so that we cease scaring people off:

"If you wish to flame, it must be so clever that only exceptionally smart people actually realize that it is, in fact, a flame. If it is so obvious that any ignoramous would notice it, then it isn't cool. Note the word ISN'T. This includes, but is not limited to, "Where's my flamethrowe? I'm gonna roast me a n00b!" and also all n00b-speak-mockery."

but I like roasting n00bs Sad

anyway, yeah, point taken, good idea

but then, the mods should be looking for bad n00bs...a board full of n00bs who don't know that they're acting like idiots ain't exactly fun either...remember the Great N00b Lock of 2002? it's not good to have a flood of stupid n00b posts

The mods will handle all n00bs. Typically, at least one of us PMs each n00b with advice on how to be liked by all. The problem arrives when they don't listen. But without new members, this board will die, so we ALL have to be more patient.

i'm glad to see this issue addressed as there have been times where i'd stare at the screen in disbelief over the lynchings a new member gets...my guess is that most of us aren't used to being new to a message board, and obviously not every person's gonna fit right in with the flow of things...

i guess what i'm trying to say is let's just be a bit more understanding of the newer guys (and girls)...they're just as important to the lifeblood of the board as the regulars...

Embarassed it's nice to see we're getting somewere (I was also lynched at suggesting we had to be nicer) Yay! But also, we are scaring away new blood as has already been said, remember the n00b's aren't flooding in as they were back 2002 way.

I remember saying we were scaring off any new member and killing the old board. Then it crashed. I'm just glad we realize people change.

Hmm. yeah i noticed people being nicer and more welcoming to nOObs lately. I remeber back in the day when i was a nOOb. I didn't get welcomed, I just got yelled at by CP. But that made me a MAN!

peace

I didn't exactly get welcomed when I first came here either, but that was my own fault (Goku vs. Pikachu thread, ouch!). But I learned quickly, and look where I'm at today!

Crap! Okay, I obey this rule, but just this once. I'm still going to kill you and your little friends and scare you all. Hahahahahaha! WOOOOSH! I'm just kidding. I like that Made-for-TV movie It.

Hey, yeah I know I'm still a noob, but i have something to say, some may consider me annoying, and I know that I can be, but people tell me that after a while they get used to it, so while you may not be used to it yet, please show some patience while it settles in, thank you for bearing with us.

Just hang in there a little longer and everyone will start accepting you as a member of the mb. Just don't leave us as we need every "good" member we can get....regardless of their attitudes or opinions*thinks of Nightweaver*.
