Okay, I have a couple of things to ask, really. First off, I am about a third of the way through the Kyoto Arc, and I am definitely impressed. I could seriously sit and watch them over and over again. I am really excited, though, because by the fourth DVD, everyone is converging on Kyoto, and Hiko is reintroduced. I love RK so much! Okay, so here are my dellimmas. First off, I let my curiousity get the better of me at the RKN and I read in a review that in the last OVA, Reflection, Kenshin... dies?!? I am sorry if I spoil this for anyone, but is this true?! I was completely devastated, and I would like someone to just come forward and tell me what really happens since I have not yet had the chance to buy it yet.
My second question is if RK manga is going to be translated into English. I heard a rumor from one of my friends that one of his friends in Cali has already bought it somewhere. Can anyone tell me about this? I guess that's all for now.
just a reminder to the infolink community that the kyoto arc of kenshin starts on monday at the usual time (630pm eastern)...many fans consider this the best of the series, and while toonami's gonna have to dodge certain events, i'm expecting it to turn out well...
technically, the kyoto arc starts today with saito's introduction, so those who may have forgotten where the story left off should watch today...
i'll continue to try and post episode summaries, but i've got a crazy work schedule right now, so don't expect 'em until the day after the episode... _________________ "Life's a journey, not a destination..." -Aerosmith ('Amazing')

Sorry my man, but there are a ton of kenshin fans who won't agree with the whole Samurai Crap thing because regardless of how they market it, it is still pissing on the original by changing the name. I mean if someone changed the name of Crimson Christian (I publish fanzines and use CC) to something else because of possible questionable material (which I could maybe see, but I would never let them) I would be a tad mad, or to market it differently, I would be furious. It all comes down to art.

They had it in a news post, but the definitive answer is YES. Viz announced in the July issue of Shonen Jump that Kenshin will be coming on board in November.

monday night:
saito continues his mind games by once again going to the dojo when kenshin's out, in his police uniform, and awaits his return while in the company of karou and yahiko...kenshin's out fighting the other hired assassin, who doesn't put up much of a challenge but was merely a setup for the coming confrontation...
kenshin returns and instantly recognizes saito...saito attacks his current ways of life, and while kenshin defends his lifestyle, saito is able to counter-argue every point...eventually the swords are drawn and while kenshin evades the initial attack, he takes a sword to the stomach region as the credits roll...
i think we all knew what was coming between the two, but after all we've been through during the wandering samurai arc, i doubt many would've expected kenshin to take such an attack at the very beginning of the fight...i love how the colors become very dark as the battle begins; it just sets the mood perfectly...
i don't think i have to really say it, but everyone should watch the next episode as it's something you don't wanna miss...
added later:
a question for those who've seen the sub...how does saito's va stack up to the original voice? i ask because i really like his english va, but haven't had the chance to hear the original... _________________ "Life's a journey, not a destination..." -Aerosmith ('Amazing')

Thanks, Angelknight2780. I am definintly looking forward for the RK manga tranlastion. If anyone else hears any news about the manga let me know. JJC14, were you talking about Saitou's voice in the OVAs? And do you mean Japanese or English voice? I actually have yet to watch my OVA in Japanese since I bought it just days ago, but I definitely think the voice actor for Saitou in the OVAs fit the character better... But I have to admit "Sparky" does a pretty good job for Saitou in the series, and his outtakes are hilarious. While we are on the subject though, for those of you who like the English versions of Samurai X (SORRY!) and Rurouni Kenshin, do you think Shannon J Weaver (voice actor from SX) or Richard _______ (voice acter from RK series) has a better voice for the character for Kenshin? I am kinda torn between them, cuz I think they both fit the character for the various time periods in Kenshin's life.

tuesday night:
the fated duel takes place between kenshin and saito, as both display an amazing amount of skill and slowly wear the other down...in kenshin's case, each hit he receives appears to slowly revert him to his manslayer ways...we get a stunning visual display of this battle until it is abruptly interrupted by the police force...
it is here where we learn many things...saito is actually an undercover police officer working for the government, though even his employers don't feel like they fully control him...we also some information on one motoko (spelling?) shishio, the manslayer who took over after kenshin stepped down and was thought dead...turns out he has miraculously survived and is seeking to take over the country of japan...the government wishes kenshin to take care of this threat, much to the disappointment of his friends, who want him to remain a wanderer and not go back to his manslayer mentality...
karou leaves us with an ominous message, saying that the day of decision would be one that no one would ever forget...
of course, the highlight here is the first half, where saito continues to dominate the fight while kenshin slowly loses the battle within himself, bringing back the manslayer within...i loved how the fight was choreographed, especially the part where it seemed like a camera was circling them as they were clashing...as i said yesterday, the darker colors worked out well and set the atmoshpere perfectly...
i must also commend kenshin's english voice actor on a great job of differentiating the voices between kenshin the battousai and kenshin the wanderer...it wasn't until he reverted back to "wanderer mode" that i realized just how vastly different the two voices really were...
and hitokiriaiko, i was curious about saito's japanese voice in the tv series and how it compares to his english counterpart... _________________ "Life's a journey, not a destination..." -Aerosmith ('Amazing')
