Yeah, but it originated from the original IGPX pilot first (you can hear it in part 3).

Well IGPX is shaping up to be a east/west collaboration done right unlike D.I.C.E. Mad . The story line so far seems the pilot episode being stretched a bit, so I hope they end in similar cliffhanger to the original. So let's speculate, what could this sries be about and what impact could it have on animation in general?

P.S.: I'd like to thank all of you who posted on this thread, it's now a treasure trove of information for anyone who wants to know about this series, thanks guys. Wink

To me(keep in mind that I only saw the first part of IGPX when it was still a micro series), it looks like IGPX is going to one part Speed Racer(high stakes , heated competition, and a lot of scheming behind the scenes) and one part F-Zero GP Legend(without the weird plot or bad VIZ dub, that is). I'm probably way off, but that's what it looks like to me. It'll be interesting to see a mecha centric anime title focus on something other than constant battles, though(not that there's anything wrong with that!). As for what impact it could have on animation...it just might improve the quality of anime centric programming on Cartoon Network(better shows like Outlaw Star, fewer pieces of crap like Rave Master and DICE). Also, it might help encourage more West/East joint animation projects.

You could be right about the Speed Racer/F-Zero cross, though without the funny voiceacting. I think it could take GITS turn, in the last episode they were talking about putting cyber brain implants into the pilots.

Here are the episodes:

I think it was episode 5.

And about the east/west collaborations, well there's PPGZ and the 3 secret time warner projects. I heard Spike TV was funding a samurai anime for their network starring Samuel L Jackson.

Yeah, I heard about Afro Samurai, but Spike TV? Eh, I just don't have much respect for that network(what, with their male-centric programming that often likes to make women seem like mere objects), but I hope the anime turns out nice. As for the GITS bit, that would be very interesting. Who knows? Maybe we'll even spot cameos of some of Section 9's members in IGPX.

I doubt there will be a cameo, but Quintin Tarenteno was invited to voice one of the characters.

It's been updated again, I think they're posting information on either VA's or the production crew.

I can't make heads or tails of what the writing says;
