I've only seen the remake and Ring 0.

MY friend cries whenever he sees static on a television now. It's funny because he's a big scary black man. Its hilarious watching him cry.

It seriously freaked me out.
...but I laughed my ass off at the end when--
SPOILER
--the girl crawled out of the TV, and when the main character's kid seemed to know everything about the girl ("you weren't supposed to help her...")
...and all the other inconsistencies.

Naming the original "Ringu" is a cruel sock in the face to the Japanese people who can't pronounce English correctly. At least most of Japan is bilingual. We generally take a language (Spanish or French) that is extremely similar to our own, and most of us forget it after high school. And in a worst case scenario, go on to develop an uncanny appreciation for John Deere tractors.

It was mad scary guys. And that's to say, I could only see about 1/3 of the screen cause my hand was in my fae and one eye was closed for the majority of the movie. My friend slept in his parent's room that night(he's 18 ). Then my little brother(11) went to watch it at a friends house. He swore he wouldn't get scared, he slept in MY room!
I never saw RINGU nor have interest to shit myself once again.

The bit where you saw the flash of the first girl that dies in the cupboard and her head falling off, the bit where the woman is in the well and the bit where Samara falls out of the TV were the bits that scared me the most.
I squealed when the arm came out of the water and grabbed the woman.
I went with four of my friends, and my friend Ceara squealed so loudly at one point that the peole next to us jumped!

I hae seen the Ring and althougha t first it is scary, I know laugh and snicker at it, however I was unlucky enough to see Spirla and nearly shit myself watching that, makes the Ring look like Teletubbies.
