I'm just curious about which format you people would trully perfer/watch.

As you all probably know they're experimenting with iControl in certain markets. This is a more benifitial presentation in terms of convieniance and immediate gradification but does it really draw regular viewers? Does having to pay a monthly fee change how you feel about TAN on iControl? ADV is playing around with the pricing for it but it seems to be around 5-10 dollars a month with "promised" rotation of programming.

I for one have yet to use any of the iControl channels unless there is nothing else on. For me they are a last ditch hope for entertainment and as such would not pay for the service.

iControl does not allow for programming blocks, it doesn't allow for followings (like the sort that certain blocks that I will leave unnamed... lets just call a couple of them Oonami and Non-child Swim).

Would anime trully be spread to a bigger audience if that audience had to pay for a service they didn't know? ADV says they made the channel to bring anime to the mainstream, but how mainstream? Seems they are really just preaching to the choir with this tactic.

So I ask you, Which presentation would you prefer? a monthly pay channel with near complete control over what you watch, or a preprogrammed channel which would possibly force you to see things you normally would never see? Why?

No Gouf option was chosen as to not sway the poll.

I'm assuming IControl is indemand channels? personally I would say that having preprogrammed lineups would give people a more varied exposure to stuff, as sometimes they have no choice to watch new things they would otherwise avoid. But as yet, I don't have the option...

indemand is pay-per-view and I'm not sure if it's like iControl on account I don't use indemand.

Good thing everyone gave their opinions...

Aparently I'm the only one who has iControl and definitly the only one who ever uses it. So in my conclusion in (nearly) all of your silence is that you like to have sex with pies.

I have never heard of iControl.
I assume it only works with digital cable?
Well I don't have digital cable either.

In answer to your question: I'd go for a channel where I can pick what to watch and when I want to watch it.

The big thing is that iControl and VOD (Comcast video-on-demand) are in their infancy, and therefore big-market-only offerings right now. Most middle- to small-sized markets won't have that kind of bandwidth available to them for years yet. (For those who need explanations, it works like a VCR, except there's no tape involved- pause, rewind, fast-forward to your heart's delight)

At my location, I'd settle for a standard, linear 24/7 preprogrammed channel (like CN or Boomerang).
On satellite.
ADV claims to be working on something along these lines.

ADV is playign around with both types of channels. I do not believe the linear 24/7 channel is going to be satallite only seeing as how they are still "testing" which will get them more regular viewers.

Having it available on satellite would be the only way I'd be able to see it, linear or not.

Pay attention and use deductive reasoning. It's being tested in certain parts of the country.

...It has been in the U.S. since it was first created. We're the first country to have this channel. It has been around since December 20, 2002.

Daikun, stop being retarted. Just because it's available in your local area doesn't mean it is everywhere.
