Uh, yeah, nicknames just dort of occur our of laziness. You don't start a thread to have people create one. Post enough and you'll become known as whatever people feel like it's easiest to call you. Nicknames aren't thought up, they happen. HYou don't just walk up to your friends and go "I'm gonna call you Monkeyman, you Shirley, and you George W. Bush." It doesn't work that way. All nicknames in real life have a reason, and on web forums that reason is we're all lazy.

Mine is already a nickname since it was originally Zechs Peacecraft. I got to lazy to type it out all the time.
