Post subject: Neon Genesis Evangelion *some spoilers inside*

After seeing the 2 eps on toonami (Thx toonami  ) i decided to watch the rest. Finished seeing it all (26eps) good anime i enjoyed it, ending wasnt what you would expect in an anime (you know a good fight sequence a lil romance etc.) All what happend from ep 1 to 24 all in his head...wierd kid  After a day or 2 i decided to see the other ending (The End of Evangelion) Good ending. I some what liked this one better then the other one, it fits with the rest of the eps. But one thing is bothering me...What does Shinji and Asuka do at the end? They stay there tell Shinji decides to go back to the real world? Waiting for humanity to be revived? Waiting for Shinji to love himself? |

At the end of End of Eva, they are back in the real world, and humanity has been "reborn." I personally think that this ending is much more fulfilling than the last couple of episodes.
It's been quite a while, though, so I don't remember where the original end left off.

well the TV ending is shinji in the human industramentality proj.
in end of eva it shows whats going on in the real world and then it shows a bit of shinji in the industramentality project. At the end, shinji rejects the HIP and decides to live a real life.. i guess asuka is with him because shes the only one he has left O_o. |

I got the tv ending, but the last 2 mins of end of evangelion is confusing me. One scene you see Naoko and Kouzou (might be Yui) on top of a grassy hill on a sunny day talking (while at the end of the scene you hear Shinji saying bye to his mom) the next you see Shinji near a beach with the eva series in the background sinking while the scene was dark and lonely. If he was in the real world, wouldnt he be there without the eva series and that big head in the background?  |

Kaworu is standing on the statue having a little "chat" with SEELE.
 
Misato is watching from afar with an expensive binocular.
Kaworu turns around and looks right at Misato.
Misato looks without the binocular. She can't even see Kaworu without them.
DUH!

Ummm, Knight, I believe that the Evas did exist in real life. Basically, Lillith awoke, destroyed everyone's AT Fields, and merged all their consciousnesses into one. I think this is supposed to be humanity attaining the next level. Shinji was not fully incorporated, so he thought about what people had told him, noticing that he was the only full human around, and that nobody else had their independent will. Thus, he decided to break free, and return humans to their previous state. Then, reality cut back in, as Eva 01 broke out of Lillith. (through the eye -- yuck!) This released everyone else (including Asuka) and the story ended, without really saying whether this was what SEEL intended.

Who else survived the N2 bombs in that area?
