Uh, yeah, and all that jazz. Anyway, I was wondering something. This board is really cool and has a great color scheme and probably a bunch of interesting behind the scenes stuff I don't know or care about. However, can you and would you do something so it looks normal at 800 x 600 screen resolution? Because I completely and utterly despise the horizontal scrollbar.

I would, but much of my time is spent doing things that I kinda like being able to see. My moniter isn't big enough for anything above 800 x 600 to look right, although 1024x768 came close, it just caused too much strain on the eyes.

i always make my webpages 800x600 because of the fact my screen is 800x600 O.o! sure they *could* make a second page but then it might not look right in a larger resolution, which in turn they wouldn't want to bother with doing it in the first place.. or something like that.. actually the page looks fine Xp

it used to be that you designed your web pages for 800x600 because it was what the average joe could use. It used to be a fairly high resolution. The Standards are upping especially since XP was released where you couldnt have a resolution less than 800x600. More and more people are using 1024x768 and the web is reflecting that. I made thre just from 1024x768 to 1280x1024. Though when I make a web page I decrease it back down. You just need the higher resolution for more and more programs (especially if you are doing 3d work).

Well there are some of us here who don't have uber-cool monitor and thus cannot take advantage of 1024x768. While I don't hate the horizontal toolbar with a vengeance, a 800x600 option would be nice.

you wish you had 800x600? egad, are you working at 640x480? *shudders* ewwww... I;d say go invest about 100 bucks in a new moniter. You should be able to find a decent one (one that would at least be better than the one you got now) for about that price.

eh I make my pages auto resize... but then if you view in an old skool browser the tags don't always work...

and I think he was saying while he does use a higher res an 800x600 page option would be nice... not the option for his computer...

eh, wahtever's clever. dear lord... did I actually say that... crap, shoot me now. Anywho, a smart webdesigner makes all of their pages as liquid as possible. I try to make mine at least look ok in 800x600 but they tend to shine above it. Well, they have a nice sheen anyway.

and after rereading the post I whole heartily agree I totally missed the point. I'm good at that *something sparkles off in the distance* OOOH! SHINEY! *runs off giggling like a school girl*

i've been working on making my site readable in anything larger than 800x600. Right now it looks like crap because the person who made the layout forgot about the images repeating and the tiny main window...

Holy! wow, that needs some major minor retooling all over the place. It shouldn't be too hard to turn it liquid. At least more so anyway. I'll see about fixing it real quick in the next hour or two.

update: Holy crap they did quite the number on your page. This might take a wee bit longer than I thought. I'm going to switch most of the side over to tables. tables = helluva lot better than frames.

Update #2: Ooookay... I just finally got the site to look right in frames. I've also just about doubled the size main area. I'm going to stick frames back in now, but only where needed. *wishes himself godspeed*
