Thanks to ANN for pointing this out:

Hasbro released an animation trailer for GONZO's G.I. Joe: Sigma Six on their website. The trailer can be viewed here. (There's no sound, by the way.)

This new series seems to be a mix of the old G.I. Joe series (it's a regression back to 2-D animation; the CGI is there, but it's limited) and Gundam. (Cobra has mechs? Nice...)

4KidsTV is supposedly going to have a sneak preview of the series this Saturday, August 6, so stay tuned for it.

Finally, I've been looking for this all over the place thanks. Hmm they still kept the lasers but atleast Cobra seems to posess an actual threat this time around. The CGI movie version made them downright incompetent to the point that I just had to laugh.

Looks GONZO toned down the fanservice here, but 4kids might've had a heart attack if they didn't.

Damn you AL KAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHN . Evil or Very Mad

Instead of featuring the dozens of of G.I. Joe characters, the series will focus on a select few chosen for a covert ops unit. There will be fewer regular characters-the cast has been slimmed down-but expect to see a lot of favorites like Duke, Snake Eyes, and Baroness. However, according to reports, many of the old Joe favorites are sure to have small appearances and cameos over the course of the series. The series will begin with a five-part story arc, and then continue in an episodic, standalone format with an underlying storyline that will eventually tie everything together. Toymaker Hasbro will release eight-inch action figures to accompany the cartoon.

Although the series sounds like it might be worth watching, it's still a toy commercial. We'll see if that affects anything when the series starts.

Five part beginning, similar to how Justice league started and if it keeps the same pacing as JL I might just forgive 4kids for all the crap they pulled with One Piece.

Actually I retract that statement, I'll never forgive 4kids for One Piece.

If the first CGI movie they released under the license is any kind of example. Well lets just say the odds are not in our favor.

Well I just saw the preview episode of Sigma Six and it was pretty good. The animation was superb, the action was top notch and except for some questionable moments the voice acting was well done. The Cobras were also improved from their retarted CG versions, in this show they actually posess cunning and intelligence making them a serious threat a very good improvement.

4kids might just redeem some respect if the rest of the series is as good as this episode. I look forward to this series, it might just become the next franchise rejuvanized by 4kids.

I finally got to watch the preview episode and I'll give my initial impressions:
The good: character designs, animation (Gonzo can make anything look good), mecha/vehicle designs, etc.

I can't find anything to complain about. Maybe this will be a new beginning for the series like how they breathed new life into Ninja Turtles.

The toys are pretty cool as well. The Joes have metal dog tags, the deluxe figures have actual clothing, (i.e Storm Shadow has pants, Long Range has a tranch coat), just about every figure has outstanding articulation, and som impressive accessories (Snake Eyes's gun has a removable ammo clip; they even painted the bullet).
