Post subject: Zeta Gundam Almost Toonami? I'm not so sure...

Though they posted Zeta Gundam as Almost Toonami, I would have reservations about that because:
1) You want to explain genocide to the kidlets?
2) Quattro Bageena. Nuff' Said.
3) Zeta is quite literally the BLOODIEST Gundam series. Tomino was in a "kill em all and let God sort it out" phase. That could be an issue.
Now, I could see Zeta as an AS show - it would work very well there. But Toonami? They'd have to edit it to hell. |

though i'm unsure of tyler's official meaning of "almost toonami", it does appear to apply to shows on adult swim...yu yu hakusho, pilot candidate, inuyasha, gundam 0083, and cowboy bebop are all represented in there...
besides, if there was no adult swim, where else would the show go?

I'd bet that it goes to Adult Swim.
That and it's noit like Tomino hasn't burned up characters in other shows, he just really burned up a lot in this one.

They DID show MSG, where HALF the human race was wiped out in two weeks...
Of course, I really don't care if CN shows it or not. I can't remember to watch the shows!

Well, you never SEE the One Week War. It's just alluded to. There's an episode of Zeta where the pilots fly though the 30 Bunch colony, and you get to see first hand the result of the Titans gassing.
I don't think that would go over well with the parental groups.
There is the fact that Tomino offs half the cast too... |

There's a dramatic difference between showing war and showing genocide. One of the major points in Zeta Gundam (the reason the AEUG forms) is the 30 Bunch Incident, where the Titans gassed a colony for having peaceful protests. There's an episode where Char/Quattro takes several of the other people through 30 Bunch, so they can see what happened. I have a feeling that some parental groups would not really go for that. |

Anime tourist went inside CN and found out why they put the toonami shows in.
The reason why ASAction has toonami shows in it is because if ASA wasn't started when it was, another block of programming would've taken the timeslot, and ASA might not have been able to start because of it. The Thursday time had to be sacrificed of course. |

Ok, this has gone on long enough. If CN says they are going to show it, then GUESS WHAT? They're GOING to show it. So they edit it. What the hell did you expect? They edit EVERYTHING. Leave it alone. Be happy that they edit less and less as time goes by and that ASA came along with far fewer edits.
