So I just saw Cowboy Bebop: Knockin' on Heaven's Door.

In a theatre.

I'm still smiling with glee.

The movie was incredible. Well, not mind blowing deep Ghost in the Shell or End of Eva, but mind blowing cool (Mabey that will change. I was so blown away and giddy at Bebop in theatres I didn't register lots of the dialogue. Oh well. Guess I'll have to buy it). I felt like I was watching an hour and a half long episode of the TV series. I see absolutely nothing wrong with this; after all, the Bebop TV series kicked major amounts of ass. Go see it/buy it. I know I'm biased due to my status as a RAGING BEBOP FANBOY but I don't care. Oh, see the TV series first. Otherwise you won't understand anything.

Shinobo sleep now. He tired. If you can make sense of this sleepy ramble, please share your thoughts on how you yourself tried to knock a little harder.

bah I screwed up the move, some else fix it now.

About the movie though, tell me pleaase that they pumped up the quality of the animation for it. Not that the series has bad animation but the same quality for a movie = suckage.

Along the lines of improvements (qualitywise, not style or anything else) that Rugrats, Thornberries, Pokemon, ect. got for their at least initial movies? Though improvements alone is a good thing. TV to Theater animation tends to not get enoguh improvements.

I think so. There's a lot less jerky motion to the character animation, background pans and zooms, and mechanical animations. They still don't animate a lot of the background elements, but they almost never do that anyway.

Well, it's not Disney, but nothing else is.

Too true. Though Dreakworks is a very close second. As I said in the 10 anime thread, Sinbad looks pretty badass.

Yep. The meshing of CGI and cel in Sinbad is still a little bit jarring, though.

Yeah, I noticed that too, so far disney is the only animation house to succesfully blend the two.

Even though Disney owns hte right to Spirited Away, I didn't think they had DONE the movie, and that was some pretty kickass Cel Shaded/animation meshing if ever there was any. Best animation I've seen in my life . . .

I haven't had a chance to see spirited away yet so I can't comment on my opinion of the meshing of the two techniques.

Agreed. Whenever I see the preview for this movie, it makes me think of The Road to El Dorado.

Spook, I'm pretty sure you would love it. In fact, I AM sure you would love it.

But either way, Sinbad DOES look pretty damn kickin.
