Yeardley Smith, the voice of Lisa in The Simpsons, says that, although writers are working now, the big screen film won't be made until the series is over. The Fox series still has at least two seasons to go. Smith said it will then take three years to make the movie because "animation takes forever."

Despite the lengthy process, Smith says she's glad to hear about the movie. "My wish for the show is that it go out with a bang and not a pimple," Smith told the Associated Press. "And if we can do a movie and it can be as good as our best episodes, I'm thrilled. I think that would be wonderful."

Smith added that she hopes the writers will keep Lisa's childlike sense of humor in the movie.

Remember the whole thing of Matt saying the Simpsons is closer to the end than the beginning? well according to Yeardly there's only a couple seasons left.... now I wonder if that "prediction" will end up coming true or coming true only for her as they fulfill the 138th episodes joke about replacing her.

Two more seasons? Yeah, right, Fox!

Before you know it, Fox is gonna order ANOTHER two seasons when those are up, and then again and again...

You're saying that like it's a bad thing. So far this season The Simpsons have been pretty damn funny, I don't see why it couldn't continue being this good for a good long while to come.

I didn't imply it as a bad thing. I was just doubting "about two seasons left."

When you think the show is gonna end, they keep ordering more seasons. It's a pattern that I'm pretty sure a lot of us are familiar with.

I was solely talking about The Simpsons, not those other shows.

The Simpsons is mass-entertainment. All those other shows required far more thought to understand. (and you forgot The Tick) Because of this, they were inherently unsuitable for Fox, and were accordingly strangled in their own entrails. It's a Fox thing.

The Tick was Fox Kids which actually is (was) a completely seperate entity altogether from Fox itself.

And YOU forgot Family Guy and Space: Above and Beyond.

Family Guy doesn't count, anyway, since it's getting new episodes.

Nope it does count since, Family Guy is following in Sliders, Keen Eddie, and Bonzi's footsteps, getting new episodes on a cable channel not ran be Fox after Fox cancled the show.

As for the Simpsons, I feel that Fox will milk the Simpsons until the ratings get to the level of either Bonzi or that horrible Fox News Magazine on Fox show they canned.
