About the cigarette holders? Yeah, that was funny.
The talk about the art style makes me think not only Aragones, but Harvey Kurtzman (founder of MAD). Which makes it über-cool. Very Happy

It looks like episode 3 (the one with the Nazis) didn't make it by the censors and got skipped.

Everyone's afraid of offending somebody and getting sued. (Stupid lawyers!)

[Off topic] Did anyone see Angel last night? Reminded me of Resident Evil. Killing lawyers is fun, but zombie lawyers are bad. [/Off topic]

That was Pioneer's decision. They want Lupin to be as popular as Futurama for the CN, so they're treading carefully. It will air eventually.

you know, there's something very quaint about old choppy animation of the 1970's era anime... I've recently gotten the idea to show more "old school" anime like this in my anime club here at MSU... usually when we start showing older stuff like the original Mobile Suit Gundam or Captain Harlock or Gatchaman, people usually really dig it and get very reminiscent of the "good old days"...

now if only CN could play Voltron, G-Force, and even Speed Racer more often...

I finally checked out the anime (and watched an old tape I found of Lupan) and was surprised. The manga has VERY different stylings than the anime. It's alot rougher.....and has a free feel to it that doesn't seem to be present in the anime. In the manga the literal physical shapes of characters seem less clearly defined than in the anime.

rough and undefined doesn't work with animation, that could be why.

Am I the only one that's irked by the fact that his name is spelled Lupin yet in the show they pronounce it Lupon?
