I think that "currently" is the key word. I'm pretty sure I've made purchases with my giftcard on-line before, though if I did it has been a while since then.

On a funny/interesting note, I present to you an excerpt from the first Sailor Moon Novel:
Volume 1: A Scout is Born wrote:
"MOON PRISM POWER," she paused and opened her eyes, getting ready to spin around and morph. That part made her dizzy, so she wanted to do it with her eyes open this time. "MAKE-UP!!" she yelled.

With that, she started spinning around, her school uniform disappearing for a second. leaving her naked. Was she really totally naked at that moment? She wasn't completely sure because it was only for a split second. Hopefully, she at least had her underware on. She never really checked to see if the Sailor Moon super-hero outfit had its own underware or not. Whe made a mental note to check that one after a the fight.

I'll be sure to post if this situation is ever resolved.

While we're in Sailor Moon junkie mode:

It is true that the actual transformation time is only about a second. This was shown in season 3 when Michiru transformed in front of Haruka. A real-time transformation, that's about the only time in the entire series they showed that.

All the other times they have to slow it down just to eat up air time. It got old having to sit through at least half a minute of transformations every episode, but I guess some people like watching those scenes.

I'm going to shut up now before I make a bigger fool of myself.

The length of the transformation really depends on the season/show to which you are referring. In the first couple of seasons of the Anime, the characters were never attacked until after their speech, if they elected to deliver one. Later, Sailor Moon was assaulted as she struck her final transformation pose. The Live Action version actually showed the "fast transformation" as an engulfing light that lasted for about 2 seconds, and didn't affect their current action (ie running). In general, from the utterance of the last word of the transformation phrase, until they strike their first pose in full costume, they are in the transformation process. The details inbetween are rapid and only drawn in for time. After that, any speeches given by the character are only for dramatic effect, and are not exempt from attack. The later seasons of the anime, especially Sailor Moon S, used the fast transformation frequently, and sometimes managed to not use transformation sceenes all together. I believe the 'S' season only had, 2 maybe 3, full-length group transformations, but don't quote me on that as it has been some time since I last watched the complete season.

In short, you are correct; the actual tranformations are very short and only drawn when nessary to fill time or add dramatic effect (ie the first episode).

But the really important question remains, does it include underwear? Like the number of licks to the center of a Tootsie Roll Pop, the world may never know....

I got my first call from Japan today.
This Japanese person spoke better English than all of the people who have called me from India.

Tokyo > Bangalore

They usually call to say their crappy VPN client is messed up and want me to fix it. They also call when an application on a server in the US that they use is not working.

Never in my life have I been so anxious to go to school. I hate being home. It's not a bad place to visit, but it's hell to live in. (Rather opposite from Rolla. Not a bad place to live, but about the worst vacation spot not run by the Amish. (or Jehova's Witnesses, for that matter)) Next stop, Missouri residency.
