w00! Lupin's been biting into my CS time- 9-9:50 is now Lupin III/DDR time.
Only problem is Lupin's voice... It's Rick Hunter... But he actually has a personality! And no Power Rangers either! Jigen's gotta have the best voice of them all though- and he's a gungihter. And let's not forget that hat. _________________ Ice cream has this erotic sense to it- kinda like the one choclate and strawberries have.

THAT is what bugs me about the show (incidently, they mentioned the Simpsons once)... I realize the American racism that previals, but come on... The show even takes place in the 70's... If they wanted to put it American pop culture, it should've been about the Brady Bunch, Star Wars, Star Blazers(that would be funny as hell, considering...), disco, etc. Or better yet, keep the Japanese stuff. _________________ Ice cream has this erotic sense to it- kinda like the one choclate and strawberries have.

actually that['s fairly dumb.. unless one of two things occured. one: they had an original dub and reedited it to put int he current references. and two: see number one. the show I take it was dubbed rather recently, this being the case the target audience is people who may not have the best recollection of the 70['s. it['s smarter of them to make more current references and have more people understand them then only a select few. gotta remember the big picture bairly includes you. _________________ "Veni. I don't want it in the 70's, cause then I'd feel like I was watching "That 70's show." The refrences are minimal, at least. |

Okayokay, forget the 70's pop culture. Just leave it intact and let us Americans be confused. I'd be happy with that. Seeing as how the 70's were forgettable anyway(except for M*A*S*H). _________________ Ice cream has this erotic sense to it- kinda like the one choclate and strawberries have.

Lupin in Japan is at least as big as Pokemon. If not bigger. Heck, my friend bought a Fujiko "action figure" (it said on the box 'fully posable', too, rofl).
One query: Didn't Tony Oliver voice Lupin in the English version? |

I think it's a good thing. It was akward hearing his voice for Lupin at first since I was used to hearing him in Robotech, but he did a great job voicing and characterizing them differently. The time difference between the two dubs don't hurt either. _________________ Meow. |

But i've always enjoyed what I have been able to see-Castle of Cagliostro, the FUNimation movies, the manga and the Cliff Hanger videogame.
|
I cant believe anyone remembers the Cliff Hanger laserdisc game. I thought I was the only one. Im starting to think im not the only old guy here. Now that you say it though it does it look a lot like that kind of animation.
About the show. I thought it was funny. I couldnt help but think Speed Racer when I watched it but Im guessing thats the point.
So how old are these episodes? Are they 70's or made to look 70s? |
