that's one hell of a memory you got g-b...
as for the show itself, i got the first dvd as a gift from a friend about a month ago and to say this show is weird would be beyond an understatement...i basically had no idea what was going on, but i found myself laughing a lot, so i guess it works out in the end...
i'm looking forward to seeing the rest since i probably won't get around to collecting the other dvd's...

For those of us who dont know. What is FLCL short for. And what is the general plot.

I believe, from bits and peices that I've heard, that FLCL stands for Fooly Cooly (I could deffinitely be wrong about that). The basic plot is . . . well, there isn't really a main plot. The whole point of the show is to spoof every genre of anime. Everyone who's seen it says that it's funny as hell.

Okay I will get the Tivo ready for that. One of my favorite parody animes is still the Project A-Ko series. And even some of the parody work in the first DragonBall was good. So now im looking forward to this.

I'll set my VCR to record, and, ten days later, get to college and instead have my computer record them. I love my All-In-Wonder.
I have to agree with CP's assessment. Everyone I know who's seen it thinks it's hilarious.

I wonder why "FLCL" is pronounced "Fooly Cooly." If it was spelled "FLYCLY" or "FLECLE" or something like that, I could understand it. "FLCL" just seems like "Fool Cool."

Actually in the series it was pronouced Furikuri (I don't know about this whole Fooly Cooly business though I've seen it around). because there's a substitution of the "r" sound for the letter "L". I saw this show a while back and let me tell you it's a ride. This show is ultimately hilarious and confusing. Sometimes you don't know what's really happening or what the kid is only imagining. The music is also addictive. The music for the whole show was done by this Jap. Rock band called The Pillows. Very very good music. goes along really well with the series. As for dubbing, I think this series was made for the horrific american dubbing because dubbing really won't ruin anything. This show is all visual (it's not as if you'd know what was going on anyways, who knows you might be better off with horrible dubs anyways) leave it to Gainax for this insanity driven work of art.
