Well it was originaly called "Candidate for Goddess" not Pilot Candidate. I was pretty lost during the whole what, 12 eps? With all the pointless flashbacks that Zero/Rei had and half the time nothing even happen in the eps.
Being that it was based on a manga, the author didn't end the story either... If they do a sequal (do they really want to try?) they REALLY need that have a plot this time... 
Good ending theme song though...  |

We agree on something. Anyway as much as I hated PC, I did like it's ending theme and ep 11's ending theme. thats about the only thing besides the catgirl I liked

I don't think its that the first VHD was inherently bad or had no plot, it merely shared the same fate of many a novel-adaptation movie. Hey, you try and squeeze an entire book's worth of chracter, visual, historical, and plot development into little over an hour of animation. Any takers?.............. I thought not. Something's got to give, and wouldn't you know it, it just had to be the plot and character development.
