At least they have Eureka 7 now. It's about time for some fresh anime blood for AS. Heck, I'd even settle for Gundam SEED Destiny, even though it's one of the lowest rated Gundam series ever. |

Don't even joke about GSD.... it was a piece of crap. It should have ended with SEED. _________________ "I'm just very selective about the reality I choose to accept." - Calvin

Remember Zeta was unloved during its first run. For being overly dramatic. And they compensated with the humor in double zeta.Im still watching Zeta. And I dont plan on watching Seed after seeing a couple episodes. But things do age odd sometimes. |

Eureka 7 looks like junk too. If Cartoon Network really wanted mecha they should have got something like Macross or Full Metal Panic _________________ [adult swim] Whacktion plays lame shows like Ghost in the Shell, Fullmetal Alchemist and Samurai Champloo. |

I have to disagree with you. I think Eureka 7 is a great show, and I'm happy to see that AS is airing it. I also think it's one of the better mecha shows in quite a while. _________________ "I'm just very selective about the reality I choose to accept." - Calvin

Well I won't comment because I haven't seen the whole series, but it does not look like the mecha I was hoping for. _________________ [adult swim] Whacktion plays lame shows like Ghost in the Shell, Fullmetal Alchemist and Samurai Champloo. |

It seems like Eureka 7 is going more towards a Fooly Cooly sort of style (just not as crazy). It's more refreshing than just another stab at an overdramatic
mecha series (like Rahxephon or the notorious GSD). You know what would be good for AS, though? Patlabor: The Mobile Police would be an excellent mecha series to show on AS. It's unlike any other mecha series that I've ever seen. Given the fact that the first movie was just rereleased by Bandai, now's a great time for it to take off. |

Eureka seveN has a shaky start but it gets much better later on. I'll admit at first I was very skeptical of this show, but I heard good things about so I continued watching and my patience was paid back tenfold. This is one of those shows that start out boring and generic but later on the plot unfolds and everything goes in a radically different direction, it's safe to say that Eureka seveN isn't your average robot show.
The most interesting part of this series to me was the character development, it's done gradually over the course of 50 episodes and the changes the characters undergo feel very natural. Renton goes from being a whiny kid complaining about his life, to a responsible man who isn't afraid to face his own destiny. Eureka changes from a cold, distant person to a lively young woman, even the side characters in this show are fleshed out.
Personally I feel that Eureka seveN is one of the best shows to come out in years, ranking right up there with Escaflowne, Full Metal Alchemist and Ghost In The Shell. I encourage you to give it a chance, your patience will pay off.
In the meantime, here's a little teaser trailer. |

One of the lowest rated series? It's actually one of the higher ones. Take a look at the TV ratings for all the Gundam series. Info from Gunota, taken from Japanese sources.
Mobile Suit Gundam
Highest rating: 9.9%
Average rating: 5.3%
Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam
Highest rating: 11.7%
Average rating: 6.6%
Mobile Suit Gundam Double Zeta
Highest rating: 8.6%
Average rating: 6.1%
Mobile Suit V Gundam
Highest rating: 5.3%
Lowest rating: 2.4%

Highest rating: (all eps) 6.2% (eps 1 - 26) 6.2% (eps 27 - 39) 1.7%
Lowest rating: (all eps) 0.6% (eps 1 - 26) 1.8% (eps 27 - 39) 0.6%
Average rating: (all eps) 2.8% (eps 1 - 26) 3.5% (eps 27 - 39) 1.2%
Turn A Gundam

Mobile Suit Gundam SEED DESTINY

Now perhaps you meant lowest rated in terms of quality. In that case, we can debate that elsewhere if you really want to. _________________ Ice cream has this erotic sense to it- kinda like the one choclate and strawberries have.

If Cartoon Network got Zeta Gundam, I'd prefer they make their own intro and outro, considering that they can't get the real jap. ones. _________________ [adult swim] Whacktion plays lame shows like Ghost in the Shell, Fullmetal Alchemist and Samurai Champloo. |

I've seen both the old and the new ops and endings for zeta and the new ones are better suited for today's audience anyways. Of course, AS would make their own openings anyway.
I love zeta and wish it would be on tv, but it seems unlikely after the failing of msg and seed. |

There's no way Zeta Gundam will ever be on TV, not with how Gundam SEED basically fell apart during it's run. It's a shame, really. As for the quality of Gundam SEED Destiny, Admiral Greer, I didn't think it was up to par. The writing was a bit off, especially when it came to character deaths (SPOILER Mu La Flaga died at the end of SEED, but is somehow fine and dandy in Destiny SPOILER). SPOILER The whole notion of two ultimate weapons (perhaps three, it's been a while) at the end of the series was just a retread from SEED (which itself was a retread of the first Gundam) SPOILER. Is it too much to ask for a new Gundam series(in a new universe, no less) to take the franchise into a new direction (and no, scads of different colored Gundams don't count)? On that note, I didn't totally(just mostly) hate it. I still have a soft spot for watching the various mobile suits take off, and some of the fight scenes were OK. |

Zeta couldn't be on Cartoon Network for the same reason Robotech won't. To old school. The series just shows it's age badly in some places. _________________ Certified Narutard |

Yeah, that's true. It's unfortunate, though, as Zeta's plot is quite refreshing compared to most mecha anime series(especially the more realistic than happy ending). |
