As the internet has the Killer App(e-mail) which made every one go for it, i would believe anime would hvae the same thing, the Killer feature to say, and i want to know... What do u think/believe the defining feature of an anime would be?

anoimation doesn't have a killer feature. way to much makes up good animatin for one thing to be the most important. lets see... basicly there is script, storyboarding, character design, in house animation, outsourced animation, editing, backgrounds, and layout. All of these need to be good. people just tend to settle if the animation is sweet but the story isn't, you can make ok character designs kick ass with the right story n stuff. There is no "killer app" most anime has horribly limited animation (like 2 frame run cycles, held frames, ect) speed lines aren't a good thing. it's the animators/studios way out of having to put real effort into bg's. Anime has two things going for it. More adult/teen oriented stories and giant robots. That's it. Anime as we know it in america now is a fad. We are already demanding higher quality in our own animated shows and once anime is accepted into the general public we will start demanding higher quality there too.

there is several choices for this. Dragonball Z, Pokemon, and probably Yu-Gi-Oh at the moment.

questions not strictly about anime would be nice too... especially not ones that are about specifics in an anime.

What the hell, let's get stinko! All of the above. Sorry for not making the question clear in the first place. I guess I'm just too used to my own convoluted logic for other people to understand it most of the time.

But thanks to your misunderstanding of the question, I learned more about the actual processes and technology involved in the animation process. Thank you, oh Guru of the Moving Drawings and Pictures and Things with the Lines and Colors, mphey mgwah.

OK, I've got an actual question about animation, not just anime.
Does anybody know where I can find sprites of Guybrush Threepwood, preferably from one of the first two games.

It's avatar time, baby.

That's easy, I think anyway, it would be The Black Cauldron. The next film, The Great Mouse Detective, was the first to include 3d animation as 2d (the gears in big ben).

I'm too tired to think up your question rycel, I'll answer it tommarow. My gut reaction to the question though is Gundam, but that's not my "final anwer".

ok, let me rephrase this thread a little. this is about animation. not little trivial things that animes come up with to explain crap in their stories. the specifics of the stories has very little with the animation most of the time the animators don't know the story of what they are animating. yeah this kind of narrows down the topics question choices for some of you, but I don't feel like wasting my precious posts answering crap like:

Especially since I've been at school during the last 3 weeks of dbz.

I thought it was 'Now And Then, Here And There'...but I haven't seen it so I can't tell! Does EVA have a depressing ending?

A smart question!

How long does it take these days to complete one-half-hour of a conventional animated show?
