The while aimed at a younger audience does have its appeal to the elder as well. It's actually got some pretty darned good animation and really top notch VAs. The battle scenes are fairly well executed to boot. The not subtle at all storylines are really the only thing that are for the younger crowds; if I had a kid I would rather they watch TT than Spongebob (though I got nothing against the Sponge).

I like how I can sit down and watch it with a lil kid and enjoy it as much as they do.

Agreed. The show is great, but the commercials have that weird vibe to it that makes me wanna gag.

C'mon, CN! Where's your sense of style that you usually have in your promos? The Courage the Cowardly Dog commercials were funnier than "fighting for truth, justice, and the last slice of pizza."

Well it shows sometimes what age group its aimed at. I watched last night and saw a lot of it. Though a coupe of enemies have been laid out which leads hope. The battle between Starfire and Blackfire at the end showed that the animated battle can look good. Although it lasted what 30 seconds.

Best line (unfortunatly repeated endlessly through the promos)

"You can't be the good guys. We're the good guys" - BeastBoy

The title song implies 4 superheros. And it sure as heck looks like their trying to show robin as a superhero. Several times in tonights episode he showed superhuman strength.

But the scene in the club had shades of Batman Beyond when they showed the kids dancing.

Its like watcing a train wreck. I cant seem to turn away.

Huh, I saw it for the first time and LIKED it. That must make me a freak I guess. I LIKED the promos. I LIKE the characters. I even like Starfire, I think she's cute and endearing. I like how they do sort of anime-stuff with the faces (Like when Starfire says "I did not know we were supposed to bring a shovel" and the people laugh at her and she gets chibi and htey get super big laughing heads"). I don't like it because they use those anime nuances, I like it because it's different than the majority of American animation, which gives it added flavor.

Man, all of you, with the exception of Spook, just really like complaining about the tiniest things. I think the show is fresh, different, and just fun.

2nd ep was miles above the first. I already knew it would be. I really don't remember picking anything little out to whine about... Deathstroke comment aside.

P.S. Theme still rules.

More ratings goodness:
Quote:

Versus its premiere last week, the second episode (July 26) grew kids 2-11 delivery (1,208,000) by 22% and rating (2.0) by 20%. Among kids 6-11, delivery (780,000) increased by 4% and rating (3.2) by 7%. Girls 2-11 delivery (249,000) improved by 54% and ratings (1.3) by 63%. Girls 6-11 delivery (131,000) jumped by 62% and rating (1.1) by 57%.
· Versus the same time period in 2002, the two episodes telecast to date have increased kids 2-11 delivery (1,101,000) by 19% and rating (2.8 ) by 22%. Kids 6-11 delivery (764,000) grew by 36% and ratings (3.1) by 35%.

Looks like a hit if this trend continues.

Well, taht WOULD work Daikun, except for one fact taht I'll paste RIGHT from the website:

Quote:
Why aren't the ratings posted on your web site?

Weekly ratings data from our national and local samples are not available on our website. While we would like to accommodate the public?s curiosity to see how their favorite shows rank in the NielsenTV ratings, we are concerned that persons who are in our samples may be proportionately more interested than other members of the viewing public in comparing their viewing habits to the weekly ratings. This could alter their viewing behavior and bias the sample. One of the top priorities of any independent research company is not to influence the behavior it is trying objectively to measure. Please bear in mind that the television ratings are our product, and our clients --broadcast and cable networks, local television stations and cable systems, program producers and syndicators, advertisers and their agencies-- rely on NielsenTV ratings to help them make business decisions.

To paraphrase, the site is saying "NO RATING FO' YOU!"

MWAHAHAHA!!!... er, no.

Just looking off the trusty ol' Toon Zone News Ticker:
http://forums.toonzone.net/showthread.php?threadid=83372

and someone else posted the quoted portion in another of Toon Zone's forums (DC Animated Universe). Cool

I missed the first episode but saw the second and I thought it wasn't bad.

Robin is just as gay as ever, without the "HOly sometyhing-or-other" statements.

Cyborg is a cheap attempt at a ghetto kid, and probably only black to avoid racist comments
(Hwite super-heros, but no black superheroes, etc.)

Beastoby is a bit childish in my opinion

But raven and starfire mad eit worth watchin. Gotta love the dark brooders and the cute aliens. Plus the derformations are great

No... but if all goes to plan within a year, I will be. And then you all will be watching the true pirates of the sea. Very Happy
