they could always pick up the pre-AS hour on weeknights. Which would put Toonami back at 10 hours a week. Or they could even allow Toonami 9pm - 11pm which would put it back at 15 hours a week (basically the return of the third hour!). |
Hmm, my Calcutron 9000 says 9 hours (or 13 hours).
You forgot about Fridays, where there is no "pre-AS" hour (or two). _________________ "When I became a man, I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up."- C.S. Lewis

I did forget that. Ah well... 9 hours or 13 would be more than enough. Maybe they'd be really brave and air it on Sundays as well? ...

It's funny, everybody is happy when Toonami gets it's hours and days cut but complained when Adult Swim expanded to have more hours and more days. |

I think it's an accessibility issue... people could watch all of AS when it was just on weekdends but having 5 days made it harder to catch some shows (without a VCR that is). Now 6 days and they're happy again... I think it all boils down to... The teenagers hated staying up so late on week nights to watch Inuyasha
I'd say we like the Toonami change because it does a lot of good things...
It gives us a MUCH better Toonami by dropping the crappy shows and taking it to the next level with the demographic.
It also gives us a weekday block that wont be as limited in potential as Toonami was on weekdays... Toonami couldn't get risky anymore and it couldn't air saturday morning cartoons... Now Toonami can be more risky and experiement all WS wants and Miguzi can air KWB shows, Fox Box shows, CN action comedies, and a lot of other stuff Toonami would never air because their either lacked action or couldn't be "ONLY Toonami".
It also opens up the possibilty of Toonami getting pre-AS hours on Monday - Thursday allow them to still air shows for the teen demographic.
It's all good news other than loosing weekdays... but as long as I've got TMNT and Teen Titans to watch where I use to watch Toonami, I'm just fine. I've got something I really like to watch on weekdays and that's all I've been asking of CN for months now. _________________ Toonami > sliced cheese (and I really like chees) |

I know alot of ppl are happy about this. But I gotta say I'm gernarally not. So what if you're getting some anime slightly uncut. I just think its kinda stupid to reduce something so great (at one time) to just one day a week. In its prime, toonami reached many. Now, instead of drawing new (younger) fans in, its just gonna keep older more, already bitter fans watching one episode of a good show a week. So in a nut shell, no, I don't like this change. Even if I don't watch toonami anymore I still don't like it. |

heh, what's funny is that the "new" toonami isn't going to be showing a whole lot that's particularly interesting to me. Justice League, that's about it. I'm sorry, I meant to say Justice League Unlimited. |

I was hoping that CN would air Z Gundam before Gundam SEED. _________________ "Just checking."

The revolution is WAY behind schedule. I've heard rumors since April of 2003. The only thiung that changed is TOM. Oh, and the show beginning, and some other minor stuff like that.
But finally the revolution will begin. Now the only thing that's missing is a whole toonami channel.^_^ |

Well if you didn't notice... all four shows are quite anime-esque. Titans and Spies for sure but Code LYOKO and TMNT are pretty dang close and they are all action packed comidies. It makes perfect sense to me. Besides TMNT 5 days a week (6 if you count the Fox Box) is great no matter how you slice it! _________________ Toonami > sliced cheese (and I really like chees) |

It'll either be all TV-Y7 Kenshin and Cyborg 009 style (as in a little higher content than the rest), be all TVPG or be a combo of TVY7 and TVPG episodes (TVPG only for the most graphic episodes). _________________ Toonami > sliced cheese (and I really like chees) |
