Post subject: Azumanga Daioh!

Well I just finished all four of the graphic novels and I was wondering if anyone else had read this series? I assume that it was at one time a daily comic strip or something along those lines. But if you see it at your local Bookstore/comic store, be sure to get it. |

I've seen some of the series. Azumanga is definetly one of the most hilarious series out there.
For those of you dont know what it's about here's a rundown. An inane group of students and teachers at a school embark on humorous escapades. In other words, there is no real plot to speak of, but it's damn funny. My favorite character has to be the insane evil english teacher. _________________ Bang. |

I have read 1-3 and I plan to buy vol 4. Yukari is the one of my favorite characters in the series. I was kind of sad to find out thaty the manga only spanned 4 volumes through. On a side note I think this is a fanfic some Azu fans may like Sex Education. It's even done much like Azumanga manga _________________ "I'm just very selective about the reality I choose to accept." - Calvin

Ah, AD--so awesome. It does appear that the manga was originally a daily comic strip (I as well have vol. 1-3 and plan to buy 4), and the anime is a very good retelling of the story. Too bad the introduced Kagura so late...
Anyway, my only complaints about the manga are the lame attempts to americanize the humor (Osaka's accent, puns that are less funny in english than a translator's note). _________________ This space left intentionally blank.

Nobody is ever going to be happy with how translators handle Osakan/Kansai accents (see Excel Saga manga for comparison ).
Best part of the 4th volume is when *Sakaki adopts Maya*. (Bono insisted!) _________________ "When I became a man, I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up."- C.S. Lewis
