  Etc. Onward to Greener Pastures

Well, I guess the cat's out of the bag. As Tyler announced yesterday, Toonami Infolink will be closing its doors in the coming weeks.

Since I was the most active news monkey on the site, I feel I should probably provide an FAQ for what's going on. And yes, this is my final news post on the site. (I'm not posting this on TDA so I don't fill that page with a massive wall of text.)

Click "Read More..." and thank you all for a wonderful 13 years.

Etc. The Story of Goku Continues...

Well... This is interesting. Dragon Ball is getting a brand new series after 18 years.

The new series is titled Dragon Ball Super and will take place a few years after Z ends. It's set to premiere on Fuji TV starting this July.

Read the full scoop at Anime News Network.

Etc. The Flipside of the Coin

Toonami Faithful posted a podcast interview with Jason DeMarco. If you want to know what he thinks of Toonami's lost hours, he spills the beans here. He also talks about other stuff like Intruder 2, the editing process, and whether or not old favorites can return. Please check it out.

  Etc. Farewell, Nine-Tails.

Naruto is finally ending.

No, I'm not referring to Shippuden or its broadcast on Toonami (they still have a long way to go), but the manga is finally ending after 15 long years. The final issue will be released in 5 weeks.

Etc. The adventures of a dandy guy in theaters.

BONES president Masahiko Minami attended a panel the Animagic convention in Bonn, Germany to discuss the company's 15-year history. (The full coverage is available at Crunchyroll.) He made an interesting announcement that the company wants to make a Space Dandy movie if the series is successful. We'll have to wait and see how that transpires.

Etc. Meet the new lady in charge!

In late March, Stuart Snyder stepped down as President of CN and Adult Swim.

After four months of silence, his successor has finally been announced: Christina Miller.

Cartoon Network hasn't seen a female President since the network's first--Betty Cohen, who was forced out of her position in 2001 shortly after Jamie Kellner took over for a couple of years.

I wish her the best of luck with her new leadership.

Etc. Georgia, we have a problem...

This is a piece of news that has nothing to do with Toonami itself, but could still impact the block in a big way.

Twitter is removing hashtags.

Trending shows on Toonami helps count towards ratings and getting the word out. Heck, it was Twitter trending that brought Toonami back in the first place.

This is only on the rumor mill at the moment, but evidence is slowly presenting itself (the article currently shows proof of its @ replies disappearing). Toonami Faithful, through its podcast and recent trending rundowns, have noted that keywords are popping up without the hashtag. This could be a problem in the future. Trending could become trickier, or even nonexistent, depending on what Twitter intends to do with that feature of their website.

Further developments may be forthcoming.
