| no, you don't need character development to set up a romantic storyline, it helps but is not required at all. romance is just a difference more "subtle" varient of action. |

I would say that Eva charaters are pretty normal.
C'mon if you where placed in a gaint robot by your father you hates you, then forced to fight a monster that nearly kills you. I would be pretty messed up to. - Shinji

How can Rei not exist if she can be seen and felt?
And besides, they aren't normal because normal people don't have humanoid fighting machines to pilot.

I figured it out last night exactly what the japanese do. They throw enough situations at each of the characters so that you (the audience) will know approximitly how they will react to it. You won't know the why just the how.
Do we know why Batman became the batman and does what he does? Yes. Do we know why Spider-Man became Spider-Man and does what he does? Yes.
Do we know why Lina Inverse became a sorceress? Not really. Do we know why Knives hates humans? I hope you see my point. |
