Former Senator Paul Simon of Illinois (not to be confused with Paul Simon, the singer) died today. He may not be that much of a "celebrity" outside of C-SPAN groupies and Illinois politicians, but still he was a pretty memorable member of the U.S. Senate, even if only mostly for his famous bow-tie.
...it's getting close to the end of the year, and pretty soon I'll have to start up a new "Dead Celebrities of 2004" thread... Well, as one final installment to my Dead Celebrity countdown, I will start with announcing the death of Earl Hindman, the actor who played the mysterious yet wise next door neighbor "Wilson" in the Tim Allen sitcom Home Improvement... We never got to see the guy's face, and yet somehow I know he will be missed...
And with that, I think it is time for everyone to take a final look back on the previous year of mortality and name or vote for their favorite pop-culture icon, political figure, or otherwise unique personality that they will surely miss as the new year begins... I won't be updating this thread with new obituaries, since 2003 has now passed, but if I missed anybody or if anyone would like to say a few words about the dearly departed, they may feel free to do so...
...but rest assured that a "Dead Celebrities of 2004" thread won't be very far away. The reaper never rests... bwahahahahaha *cough, sputter* sorry, my evil laughter is getting a little rusty...
