But there is no sense in getting Annoyed over some saying "I don't like it" in a half ass'd manner or any sort of ass'ed manner. No one has to give a valid reason for dis-liking or liking a show. Anyone can like a show for any reason such as Art Style, Story, Randomness, Seriousness, etc... The same goes for disliking a show. No one needs a valid reason for liking a show, It is because any reason for liking or disliking a show is valid because it is an opinion and validly is only valid in facts.

"Annie-May? Them's those stupid Japanese pr0n cartoons, ain't they? That stuff sucks! The only people who watch those things are sicko dumbasses!"

Just bringing your definition of "validity" into focus, no offense intended. Wink

:add: And now that I've had my 3rd or 4th cup of coffee, and I'm thinking more clearly...

I don't think it's a question of whether an opinion has validity, because the opinion is valid in the eye of the person who formed it.
Rather, the question is whether that opinion is worthy of receiving any merit from the "audience" who hears (or reads) the opinion.

lol OK, revision: Any INFORMED opinion is valid. I have watched the show on numerous occasions.

I didn't want to give more than one example of why I dislike the show for a reason. I didn't want to thoroughly insul the show, as to not anger the MANY InuYasha fans, but I also did want to have SOME reason, otherwise I WOULD have come off as ignorant. And anime message boards as a whole have more than enough ignorance as it is. If I had given all my reasons for disliking the show, it would have not only pissed off much of the board, but would have lead to even MORE picking apart of my reasons. So I gave one valid (yes, it was valid, ask anybody else, Vash's overpowered gun-arm is quite similar to the overpowered vortex hand) example of the numerous anime cliches prevalent in the show. And in anime, one cliche is almost too many. People already view the medium as highly cliched, and frankly, I think shows like InuYasha do make anime look bad. There are some anime that are staggeringly creative, and we DON'T need another show about a half-[blank] trying to become a full-[blank] in [time period] [exotic locale] influincing people's opinion of the medium.

you do remeber that we don't tolerate ignorant enjoyment. Inu Yasha is a VERY average anime. It's probably fairly much represenitive of upper half of 'toons in japan if not more. People damn near always fail to realise that the reason american tv animation sucks so bad is because we get to see everything we produce, in japan it's the same way they see everything they produce. 90 of what goes over to japan is our besterish stuff and vice versa.

Inu Yasha is nothing more than DBZ for a slightly older crowd and that's not neccesarily a bad thing.

I think I must have missed something in that, because I can't tell if you're agreeing or disagreeing.

I'm agreeing but defending it at the same time. essentially all it is is a mediocre show. not a bad one and definitly not great. It's watchable and entertaining enough to keep me watching... at least the first 2 times I see it. The biggest problem with 99% on anime is that you can only watch it 3-6 times before growing absolutly sick of it. I'm not saying all anime is like that but a hugely major majority of it is.

Robram, I was never taking issue with your opinion, just the way you expressed it (which left a lot to be desired). I didn't need more than one reason, just one valid one. I appreaciate your attempts at elaboration but it doesn't change the fact that a bigass laserbeam and a blackhole have nothing in common with each other, let alone a wiisecracking hand.

Is Inuyasha change your life excellent? No. Does it make all anime look bad because it isn't earth shakingly different? No to that one too. Not everything can be FLCL. Just because something is accessible doesn't mean it lacks quality.

1) I didn't say it was bad, I said exactly that, that it's mediocre.

2) The validity of that reason is, in and of itself, also a matter of opinion, I think they're similar, you don't. End of discussion. I just wanted to leave my two cents and leave, I don't want to get in a fight over a show unless I love it or hate it, and I feel neither way about this show.

If one show makes all anime look bad, I'd call that a bad show. That's what you said Inuyasha did. Nobuyuki came right out and said it was mediocre, don't tell me that's what you did all along.

But I'm done with this. All I have to say is if you think an energy blast and a vortex are the same thing as comic relief...
Don't write any physics books.

the similarity comes form the over the top power of Vash's angel arm to the over the top handy black hole thing of what's his name. Rob's not talking about what they specificly do so much as their potential power.

It seems like ROBRAM is just defending his point, While Jkyle pokes at it like a whiney 5 year old asking "Why?" nonstop.

I wonder what Jkyle will say if I do this...
Inuyasha Sucks!
Inuyasha's style is boring and cliche!
The voice actors suck! (Jap and English)

I dont care what anyone says to me inresponse to those insults, Its NOT going to change my view of the show, Its not going to make me agree to anyones points saying the otherwise. This is just becoming a flame war, A flame war involving angel arms and physics.
Gah! My head hurts now!

The point is... Dont get pissy over what other people think.
