If they stick to Tech related stuff then odds are it would be Macross and not Robotech, Robotech is extremely old and the dub is a little freaky, that and Macross would have a lot more value for them, what with Macross DYRL , 2012, Macross 7, Macross Plus. and Macross Zero coming out in Japan in a few months by the time Macross would make on run Macross Zero would likely be coming to America. |
It was to my understanding that the no dub existed for the original Macross. That and Macross 7 sucked so badly no one wanted it in the U.S. |

Though technically they have been showing anime for quite a while. You see on most episodes of Extended Play there's at least one scene where they show a part of Endless Waltz in the background. I noticed it a while back and thought it was cool. _________________ There is limited intelligence in the galaxy, but the stupidity of the universe is infinite. |

On Thanksgiving TechTV started airing commercials for their new anime block which they are calling "Anime Unleashed". The commecrial features Serial Expierments Lain, Crest of the Stars and Betterman. While the commercial says "Coming Soon," it was announced on "The Screen Savers" a week ago that Anime would come to TechTV as of December 30th. Thans to Kris Granhol for this info. |

I'm ever so happy now. My favorite network just keeps getting better and better. The dark ages of Anime are finally ending. _________________ There is limited intelligence in the galaxy, but the stupidity of the universe is infinite. |

I think there is a dub for the original Macross, or at least there was one at one time or another, now that Harmony Gold lost all their liscensing things it will come around fairly soon. _________________ The Mighty King of Bad Ideas |

I can't believe I missed this. THIS IS FREAKIN GREAT. It's pretty obvious why they chose Lain and the others since they have the most to do with Tech while not delving into Mech.

I think this holds even more promise of things to come.
Ripped from ANN (once again, getting repetitive isn't it?)

On the 28th the advisory arm of the Japanese Ministry of Education and Science released a draft report on "The basic policy on the promotion of culture and art." The draft emphasizes the importance of the overseas promotion of modern Japanese culture and art in forms such as Manga, Anime and Movies. Also emphasized was the importance of teaching the Japanese language more thouroughly.
In a meeting in early December, the Japanese cabinet will decide on a basic policy outlining the general means and mothods to promote modern Japanese culture and art overseas for the next five years, starting in 2003. The decision will be based on the final draft of the ministry's report.
The report sees Japanese comics and animation positively, reffering to U.S. Shonen Jump and Spirited Away, which got the grand prix at Berlin Internaional Film Festival, "They have spread among people on an international level and have been motivitaing the whole of the Japanese artistic community." It emphasizes how important it is to introduce Manga, Anime and Japanese movies to overseas markets and to support them financially.
