Post subject: Vash's new thread about anime. this time , it'll be good
Well , due to crappy threads before , i thought i would make a decent one.
This week's topic : Fansubs , Criminal , or Wonderful ?
To me , the spirit of fansubs is dead. It's all about the profit now.
The spirit of fansubs is to distribute anime at no charge except for maybe shipping to the anime-thirsty USA who would otherwise not get a chance to see it.
nowadays , a pipe dream.
It's kinda like burning a CD for a friend. you make no profit , so i consider it to be fine , and the quality is nothing less than CD. but when you copy a tape , make many generations of it , and then charge money for that tape which is basically seventh-hand , i consider it piracy and a ripoff.
Others may disagree with me , others may agree. Poll on this runs for 7 days.

Dude, it's getting slightly annoying that you put your name in the title of every thread you make. If you haven't noticed, the board says who started each thread to the left of the title.
Oh, and some of these threads belong in Miscellaneous babble. And they've already been made by other people.

The sage spooketh well. It's not hard to rip free of your n00b image. I mean, you type in actual sentences, so you aren't that far off at all. For the first week or month here, just read about 3 times as much as you post. At least that much. Maybe more. Probably more. Agreed, IF it is not available commercially. Otherwise, you're stealing. I mean it.

Again, taht's the law as well. I personally have small disagreements with this. But it's the same disagreements people had with record companies when tape recording was the fad. I only burn cd's of music that I wouldn't buy. I'd prefer to own the real album and I'm not going to spend 10-16 dollars on a cd where I just want to get a taste of the bands style. Hell, it might even get me liking them enough to want their album and go buy it. (I also download alot of animated theme songs, especially disney). The other type of music I download and make cd's of are the albums I've had to buy multiple times because somebody stole my cd collection. I don't really have a problem rebuying an album once because it was stolen, but having to do it twice as hell no, especially when you have (well had) a 200+ collection.
