Tecmo will be bringing the Dead or Alive series to Xbox Live with Dead or Alive Online, a bundle package featuring upgraded, Online versions of the original Dead or Alive and Dead or Alive 2. Today, thanks to Japanese mega-magazine Famitsu, we have first screens of the game.
The magazine reveals a few new details. As mentioned yesterday, the two games will be going through a different set of updates in the transition to Xbox. Both will be playable Online, but Dead or Alive will retain the graphical look of the game's Saturn version. Meanwhile, Dead or Alive 2 will feature graphics that Tecmo "was unable to achieve on the Dreamcast or PS2." You can see the changes to one of the DOA2 stages in the accompanying screens. _________________ "Veni. Vedi. Spooki." - Julius Caesar
I came. I saw. I spooked.
Sega has been in merger talks with both Namco and Sammy for the last several weeks. In the latest surprising development, Namco has cancelled all negotiations with Sega. Namco was apparently unsatisfied with Sega's recent actions, including all but agreeing to merge with Sammy earlier in the week.
This comes just after news that the Sammy/Sega talks have broken down as well. Though rumors have surfaced in the past about possible Sega mergers with Electronic Arts or Microsoft, Sega president Hideki Sato declined to comment on any such plans at a press conference today. For now, at least, Sega will remain independent. _________________ "Veni. Vedi. Spooki." - Julius Caesar

E3 starts tomorrow folks, and you don't need to sign up for IGN Insider or Gamespot Complete to get full coverage. All you need to do is go to E3 Insider to get your fill of E3 goodness. If you want Nintendo-only coverage (aka: cutting through the bullcrap), then, Nintendo has its own site for E3, or if you don't trust Nintendo for their own coverage, you can go to GameCube Advanced's (try to pronounce that) FULL E3 coverage, complete with movies, interviews and the usual whatnot here.
Not that any of you would actually sign up for the IGN or Gamespot Nazis .

Today Electronic Arts announced they have signed an extension with MGM Interactive and Danjaq LLC to extend the worldwide rights to develop, publish, and distribute James Bond games until at least 2010. The agreement allows EA to use any of the Ian Fleming books, any of the MGM films, and any future Bond releases. The next James Bond game which we detailed last week will be titled James Bond 007: Everything or Nothing and is due to release this holiday season.
"Our hands-on process in collaborating with EA every step of the way - throughout production, marketing, and the sales cycle - ensures that we create compelling, world-class product for the interactive video game marketplace," said Neil Haldar, Vice President of Production and Business Development of MGM Interactive. "We are extremely pleased to continue this successful partnership with EA for a long time to come."
And I was hoping that Eidos would get the Bond licence for Free Radical...

The first TRUE GameCube demo disc for the consumer is now available! Being sold at, depending on your perpective, the notoriously-high or reasonably-low price of $9.99, you can own short demos of the following games:
-Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg, a new GCN-exclusive platformer by Sonic Team
-Sonic Adventure DX
-Viewtiful Joe
-Splinter Cell
-and lastly, the not-so-secret demo of Soul Caliber II
There are also several gameplay movies of other game contained on the disc as well.
In my opinion, this is a great buy. For the price of Tube Slider ($50), you can pick up Ikaruga ($40) and a great demo disc. _________________ "KUSANAGI!"

*After reading* So basically, the thought process behind this one was "What can we do to take the crappiest spin on the character of Zelda yet, and turn it into a painful annoyance of a game?"
I'll pass on this one. I want a real Zelda game. Preferably one with more than 6 dungeons. Seriously, Wind Waker was good, but there was too much exploring surface world and not nearly enough exploring dungeons. _________________ anime is teh s uck

a. I meant that a blind pig can find as many truffles as it wants since it smells the truffles, and
B. I meant the closing cutscenes of Windwaker _________________ The problem with America is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?
