Actors Adam Beach (PBS' Skinwalkers) and Hayden Christensen (Star Wars: Episode II: Attack of the Clones) are producing a proposed film adaptation of the computer game Turok: Dinosaur Hunter, the Zap2it website reported. The game is also the basis of a series of comics.
The film will be "a new Turok, where he's a college student," Beach told the site. "His uncle has died, and he learns about the responsibilities of a Turok and jumps into it when his family is threatened. A Turok is a warrior who is the protector of Earth from other dimensions. It's a place called the Lost World, and in that Lost World, they're trying to defeat the one enemy who wants to consume all of the worlds. Turok is the warrior on Earth who is fighting these people. His duty is to get these dinosaur beings and send them back to their own world."
holy shit I want to beat whom ever said that part in bold. Turok was out in comic book form long before any of the games came to be. _________________ "Veni. Vedi. Spooki." - Julius Caesar

I've seen most, if not all, of what I want to see out of that new Toonami block.
Oh, and if you could put a series of ~~~~~~ between topics, rather than creating a new post within 2 minutes, that'd be nice. _________________ anime is teh s uck

I try to, but I usually open things in a new window and move on before I reply so I tend to forget to recompile the posts back down into one when they're ready to post. _________________ "Veni. Vedi. Spooki." - Julius Caesar

Ladies and gentlemen, we now have more reasons for AOL Time Warner to fire Kellner!
Quote:
A Los Angeles judge has refused to throw out a lawsuit brought last year by the writer and director of The Exorcist, who allege they were denied profits from a 2000 reissue of the 1973 hit horror film.
And just who are the suspected culprits behind this mess? Turner Broadcasting and The WB.
The lawsuit, filed by writer William Peter Blatty and director William Friedkin, accuses The WB Network and TBS, Inc. of hiding revenue to avoid paying them a full share.
It seeks unspecified actual, compensatory and punitive damages and a trust fund made up of all the "assets, revenues and profits defendants improperly received" from the 2000 redistribution of the film.
The three companies, which AOL Time Warner owns, are charged with breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty and wrongful accounting.
Superior Court Judge Marilyn Hoffman has denied a motion by Warner Bros. to throw out the lawsuit. Warner Bros. spokeswoman Barbara Boogliatti said its company policy is not to comment on pending litigation.

The guys at Variety.com got to watch a prescreening of The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers 2 weeks early (lucky bastards ), and they already have a review of it. Click here for the review. If you don't like spoilers, then, well...don't read it.

New Line Cinema is teaming with DC Comics to create a movie based on the classic comic book and Hanna-Barbera cartoon Shazam!, Variety reported. New Line is in final negotiations with DC to acquire feature rights to the 60-year-old title, in which mild-mannered Billy Batson discovers that he can call on the powers of an ancient Egyptian wizard, Shazam.
Michael Uslan, who executive produced the Batman franchise for New Line's sister studio, Warner Brothers, will serve as executive producer on Shazam!

Why, sir, I do declare! You could have knocked me over with a feather when I found out that Fox had cancelled Firefly.
20 bucks to whoever had December 13 in the Firefly dead pool. Fox announced the latest victim of its Friday Night Sci-Fi Death Zone, appropriately on Friday the 13th. They said it was going on "hiatus." A Yahoo! news story noted the show's low ratings, ranking 98th for the season so far.
The story said the the original 2-hour pilot will air Dec. 20, and there are three more episodes that have not yet aired.
Tim Minear, a writer / producer on the show said on his site, "We did get word tonight, Fox won't be ordering any new episodes. That translates to 'cancelled.'" He said Joss Whedon broke the news to cast and crew.
Minear also said that they will finish post-production on all of the episodes, and Fox says that "somehow" all of the show's completed episodes will air.
Joss Whedon, in a message posted on Buffista.org, said he believed the show had been "mistreated shamefully." Chris Buchanan, president of Mutant Enemy, the show's production company, told Yahoo! that they will be "exploring every possible way to keep the show on the air, whether it's on Fox or another network." Joss Whedon noted in the Buffista post that doing so is "no easy prospect."
Before Firefly, there had not been a show on network TV that had a whore in it since (insert name of sleazy actress or singer here).
Zap2it notes that the show's Friday replacement Fastlane has also not been doing well in the ratings, but it got an order for a whole season of shows, unlike Firefly. Well, ain't that something?
