Post subject: Live-action Transformers - The fifth sign?
Read it in this week's Entertainment Weekly, and this is word for word mind you:
Quote:
Hot on the boffo box office wheels of 2 Fast 2 Furious, AngryFilms is planning a live-action Transformers flick. No wonder an ILM animator predicts an Oscar for a CGI actor in five years.

I have absolutely no idea what to say. Just that I'm scared and I need a hug right now. I can't begin to imagine how they're going to pull this one off. The He-Man movie was bad enough, but now they're going to drag an even better 80's cartoon icon through the Hollywood dirt. I feel cold, so very cold. actually there is already a transformers movie thread somewhere (I'll let nobu find and point it out to you) and its been reported probably 2-3 times both in the news threads and on the main page.
but anywho giant robots COULD be really cool if they take them seriously. we can only hope. _________________ "Veni. Vedi. Spooki." - Julius Caesar

I found the Toon Zone thread easier than looking in our forum.

Angry Films is shopping The Transformers, based on the cult classic set of action figures that have starred in comics, TV series, and an animated feature, around Hollywood as a possible live-action film, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The project is being developed by Don Murphy of the forthcoming League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and Tom DeSanto of X-Men and X2: X-Men United. DeSanto is currently working on a story treatment before the duo hire a screenwriter. No director is yet attached to the project.
All kidding aside, Rycel... I feel your pain. I hope it's more like X-2 than what LXG looks to be. _________________ "When I became a man, I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up."- C.S. Lewis

I think LXG looks good . . . better than crap assed Hulk which I refuse to see because he doesn't move in respect ot the DAMN LAWS OF PHYSICS . . .
But I have high hopes for the Transformers movie. I think they have the right people working on it, so it has potential. With the resent UBER BIG sales at comic-book movies, the people making Transformers will most likely get the budget they need to make it the right way. So I'm looking forward to this movie.
And why does no one ever read the front page of TI? First Bono, and now Rycel. Seriously, guys, you should read the front page. There's some really good stuff on there almost every day. _________________ anime is teh s uck

Sure he does, it's just that he moves like a little asain man, Ang Lee did the motion capture... that's why it looks weird.

Well, if you disapeer for a few days (especially if they were heavily newsy days) the news bits either get shoved off to the side or disapeer entirely from the from page. Oh, and I agree with everything from your second paragraph. _________________ "Veni. Vedi. Spooki." - Julius Caesar

I've been out of the loop for about a week and just got back from the great outdoors, so forgive me if I've missed a few news bits here and there. Actually, I looked kinda like the "It's Man" (see my avatar) when I got back, all scraggly and dirty. MOSQUITO BITES BE FUNS!!! _________________ Rycel's Death Count on this board: 7

Thanks for backing my up, Spook.
Oh, and Rycel, it's understandable if you're away for awhile. It just seems that people miss the front page all too often, and it always seems they have SO much info there. The newsmonkeys are uber good, in my opinion. _________________ anime is teh s uck

With the names behind it I think it has a chance to. There should be some renewed fan faith with the new WWII Transformers/GI Joe crossover comic series coming in august as well. _________________ Certified Narutard
