I was compiling an album full of songs that remind me of summer. It got me thinking "which songs do strangers think of when they think summer?"
Well, what songs do you think of?
A few of the songs I think of are; Cut You In - Jerry Cantrell, Pepper - Butthole Surfers, and Hotel California - The Eagles. _________________ "Veni. Vedi. Spooki." - Julius Caesar
I came. I saw. I spooked.
Pretty Fly for a white guyby i forget the name for some silly reason, and Allstar by Smashmouth _________________ The problem with America is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?

for some reason, Oops! I Did it Again always reminds me of summer; and, as long as you got Hotel California, you might as well add "Boys of Summer" by Don Henley; and you gotta love "Smooth" by Santana & Rob Thomas

thought of a few others...
all of these are good summer drivin' songs - "Surfin' USA" (or anything Beach Boys, really), "One Week" by Barenaked Ladies, "Sweetness" by Jimmy-Eat-World, and "Free Fallin'" by Tom Petty
also, if you don't hate country, "How Your Love Makes Me Feel" by Diamond Rio has a great summer feel to it

Alcohol by Barenaked Ladies is good too. I like Americana by Offspring, it's nice and upbeat, but not just for summer. It really gets your blood pumping.

I think of (some) really weird stuff when I think of summer.... Pretty Fly for a White Guy is in there(the stories around THAT one............ ) as are the following: Vengaboys - We Like to Party, L'Arc~en~Ciel - Driver's High, LFO - Summer Girls, Vitamin C - Graduation, Yui Horie - Future of Smiling Faces, REM - End of the World as We Know it, Kenny Loggins - Playing With the Boys, Dave Rodgers - Saturday Night Fever, Bruce Hornsby and the Range - On the Western Skyline
Yeah, there's a few things in there that shouldn't be- LFO, Vitamin C, Offspring, and the Vengaboys need to be burn to a crisp... But this is supposed to be what REMINDS us of summer. It's weird how some of this stuff just gets into your head and won't leave. And bring back memories, some great, some awful. _________________ Ice cream has this erotic sense to it- kinda like the one choclate and strawberries have.

Here's another one: Katrina and the Waves - Walking on Sunshine
Question: is it 80's or not? I can't figure it out. _________________ Ice cream has this erotic sense to it- kinda like the one choclate and strawberries have.

A song from the attic:
Eddie Cochran- "Summertime Blues"
I'm gonna raise a fuss
I'm gonna raise a holler
A-but-a workin' all summer
Just-a trying to earn a dollar
Every time I call my baby
And ask her to date
My boss says "Uh duh son
You gotta work late"
Sometimes I wonder
What I'm-a gonna do
But there ain't no cure
For the summertime blues
Well my mama papa told me
"Son, you gotta make some money"
"If you wanna use the car
To go ridin' next Sunday"
Well, I didn't go to work
So my pa said I was sick
"You can't use the car
'Cuz you didn't work a lick"
Sometimes I wonder what l'm-a gonna do
But there ain't no cure
For the summertime blues
Gonna take two weeks
Gonna have a fine vacation
l'm gonna take my problem
Through the United Nations
I called up my congressman
And he said, quote-
"l'd like to help you Sonny
But you're too young to vote"
Sometimes I wonder what l'm-a gonna do
But there ain't no cure
For the summertime blues _________________ "When I became a man, I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up."- C.S. Lewis

Wow, Nobu.
It's been a long time since I listened to country. That really takes me back. Damn you, wasted youth! Damn you, I say! _________________ This space left intentionally blank.

I beg your pardon... Eddie Cochran was NOT a country music artist.
Alan Jackson, OTOH, can burn in hell, slowly. _________________ "When I became a man, I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up."- C.S. Lewis
