Yo people, heres a question. Are you just like me, wanting the old toonami back on air, maybe even having a channel of it's own? (maybe thats going too far) well i just emailed CN about that and there taking it into consideration. hopefuly it will be a success.

i'll keep ya posted when i get a reply, and if somebody has already done this, POST IT!!! the suspense is killing me

Im starting to believe that all new posters to this forum are required to make a "Can we have the old stuff back". Of course never really saying what they are after. The stations old enough that old stuff is strangely defined.

But we get one of these every time someone new comes into the forum.

The simple answer is that ratings define what we get. And the "Old stuff" doesnt cut it anymore.

I'm not sure if he means old shows or old timeslot.

Either way, I'm not holding my breath waiting.

I think they should do both things, put the "old stuff" on weekdays along with some new stuff and make something like "toonami flashback" on certain days of the week like tuesdays and thurdays. Then put the new toonami shows the other days of the week, including saturday and leave that crappy meguzi thing for sundays.

Or, if they hadn't run every show nto the ground with reruns in the first place, they could still bring a few out of moth balls every year.

As great as the old Toonami was, that was back then. Anime is no longer as fresh as it was (on T.V, not DVD) back in 2000 when Toonami first aired Gundam Wing. Outlaw Star was great, but it was rerun into the ground. Blue Submarine # 6 was just plain awesome(and still is). Instead of yearning for the past of Toonami, I can't wait until it's next great period.

I dont remember Outlaw Star being run into the ground. Especially not the way that Gundam Wing or really DBZ was. I've been hoping (although Nobu will speak up and say who has the rights) that Outlaw Star would reappear

If a couple posts on a random forum crushed, what your calling, your optimism. Well then I'm sorry but unplug from the internet and save yourself a lot of heartache later on.

Most shows that Toonami airs (outside of their original productions) have a two year license (I think). So for stuff that's over two years old, CN would have to pay more money to renew the license.

While it would be nice to see some older shows like Gundam Wing, Outlaw Star, or even Kenshin again, I'd rather CN spend that money to get new stuff. So while airing non-CN owned older shows on CN or a separate channel is not impossible, it is not cost-effective when those shows might not get as good of ratings as a shiny new show.

And since Spanky's not here, I'll have to post this myself...

Now, while that image may be the best possible end to this topic before I lock it, I want to add my two cents.

Toonami is not our network anymore, many of us have surpassed the age group that it gears itself towards and we must accept this fact. When it was ours it was fantastic, if not we wouldn't still be posting on a message board dedicated to it, but that time is fading. Even so, Toonami continues to push the frontier for action and keeps with the times. If you talk with younger kids who just recently began to watch, they are liking it and that is what is important to the network. CN is not out to kiss-ass to a smaller collection of people who insist on watching and critiquing television shows for children. Frankly, there are dozens and dozens of series out their that have been made, are being make, or will be made that are perfect for Toonami's audience that have yet to be aired. Every generation has an impulse to glorify their timesakes out of nostalgia so your feelings are understandable. But Television has always changed with the times and your time is not now. Get over it.

I'd like that too, but I don't think Williams Street has as much autonomous control over Toonami programming as it has in the past; the network suits are dictating more of the content, while WS's big guns have their hands full with [as].

Proof of Nobu's statement can be no better said then "Honey I shrunk the Kids" or "Goonies".

We lost Cartoon Network and Toonami. But we have Adult Swim. So be happy with that. As long as they stop with the BS like 12 oz mouse which will have a marathon!!! Then we should be ok

Remember that Adult Swim ran a Inuyasha marathon. And that they also run Gigantor before anyone wakes up. We just need to switch our focus from Miguzi to Adult Swim.

Besides how many times can one person watch the same 200 episodes of where Freeza says to Goku "Theres only 5 minutes left until this planet explodes".

That or we just need to hope that the Cartoon Network dumping grounds of Boomerang gets a toonami block for the middle of the night
