Kids' WB! will be history in 2008. Just like Fox Kids, it's time for another sellout!

And to just who is Kids' WB! being sold to? Just like Fox Kids...yes, you guessed it--4KIDS!

So when does this start, exactly? Your source doesn't say.

I happened upon a commercial for the Spectacular Spiderman on Kids WB! I still remember Spiderman The Animated Series when FoxKids had it. Ah, FoxKids... Anyways, I hope this series is good. There hasn't been a Spiderman series since, 1998, and no, I do not count the MTV version.

I'm glad KidsWB! won't get the ax for at least a little while. We really don't need another version of a 4Kids block on television. My little cousin says he likes the block, and lets not forget, KidsWB! brought us some quality shows (Batman the Animated Series, Superman the Animated Series, The Batman, Freakazoid, Animaniacs, oh and anyone remember Max Steel?). I can't believe I'm saying this, but it's one of the only TV-PG rated Saturday morning blocks that hasn't given itself over to anime. I think the world needs that. Can't let anime ruin everyone's lives. Wink

Thoughts?

I have many fond memories of Animaniacs, Freakazoid and others mentioned. It is too bad that our animation here in the states has pretty much been dis-mantled. Animaniacs is a show which will never be given new episodes. The new takes on some of my old favorites such as Batman, Superman, and the Ghost Busters (yea, I know but what ever) are simply not as good as the old ones IMHO.

I will be sad to see 4Kids to take over what was the last quality cartoon block on Saturday Mornings. 4Kids in general has disappointed me in nearly every aspect.

UPDATE: Kids' WB! will end next month. The final air date is May 17.

However, as it dies on TV, it'll still live online. The new KidsWB.com has classic WB, Hanna-Barbera, and DC Comics-based cartoons. Check it out!
