Hey...heres a question for everyone.
THink back to the Cell Saga when Gohan went to that small village that was building a shelter to protech them from Cell.
THe little girl said her Grandpa won the World MartialArts tourment yrs go. They guy looked alot like Jacki Chun. Around the end of that Eps he seemed to know GOku.
The Grandpa"you sons very powerful...just like his father."

Roshi won the first 22 tournaments. He won the 22nd as Chun. Roshi IS Jackie Chun. Tien won the 23rd. Goku, the 24th. Mr. Satan the 25th and 26th. At least, that's the way I remember it. Actually, I don't remember Roshi ever saying (either in the anime or in the manga) that he participated in the world martial arts tournaments (at least not as himself), but then again my brain is pretty mushy right now so I might not be remembering too well, and it is very possible that they could have said that in the English dub... But I do know that there have been more champions of the Budokai than just Roshi/Chun, Tenshinhan, Goku, and Mr. Satan... They elude to past champions of the tournaments numerous times. Yes, King Chappa was a past champion, but of which Tournament we'll probably never know (I'd be guessing something like the 21st or even the 20th). Besides, Roshi would really not have any reason to fight in the tournaments himself, because he already is far beyond the abilities of the guys who normally fight in the tournament. The tournament was really only supposed to be a test for his students, and his own entry into the tournament as "Jackie Chun" was only to ensure that they completed the test by losing.

Noted that he participated in "many", not "all", and stopped after the 22nd tournament.
