so does Zogg have the BIND server set to not allow recursive queries? If so it would be pretty hard to poison the DNS, if its not you can run some interesting queries and funk up the DNS cache. _________________ The problem with America is stupidity. Brilliant, Nobu. Absolutely hilarious yet subtle post there.
TylerL, I was thinking something along the lines of what Zechs used to DJ for, except we'd play good music (like what Zechs played).
Of course, we could also have scheduled radio shows and the like. Though I'd have to figure out how two TIL members would cohost over a distance and how to take callers, it'd be a fun idea. And here's dougisfunny with the latest in anime news... _________________ This space left intentionally blank.

well Zech's used shoutcast and that was pretty much all handled through winamp. but for callers FDD is right, skype is the one I'd promote though _________________ The problem with America is stupidity. Oh, that's right; Ventrilo can add broadcast into your audio-out channel(s). That's work just dandy. We could even set up a Ventrilo server for callers, considering how little bandwidth one would take. _________________ This space left intentionally blank.

vent server liscensing is a little different though
Quote: |
The Pro version of the Ventrilo server can not be downloaded. It requires that we accept your application and that you sign and return the Ventrilo license. However, we do not license everyone.
In order for an applicant to be considered you must meet the following minimum requirements.
1) You must have a legitimate business license in your state, country or jurisdiction. Please be prepared to provide proof when requested.
2) You agree to a 1000 slot minimum. Slot counts greater then 1000 are billed at the per slot rate for the total number of slots hosted. Slot counts below 1000 are billed at the per slot rate with the required minimum of 1000 slots.
3) Licensee's slot counts are expected to grow on a regular basis.

That doesn't sound too awful. Especially if we have two or three. One for say TDA radio, one for TIL message board, and one for the TDA network. _________________ This space left intentionally blank.

last I checked the personal server also has the listen port locked to the default port 3784, meaning you can't run more than one server at a time on an IP
Quote: |
The Public version of the server is hard coded to 8 slots per instance, one instance per machine and port 3784. This way home/personal use is permitted without paying a license fee but we put a stop to all illegal hosting and license fraud. |

Some sort of weekly podcast-esque thing would work better than live webcasting for many reasons. _________________ My old sig was too long. |

I'm not entirely sure what poscast means. Does that just mean an mp3 made for later downloading, or is it a form of streaming audio that can later be hosted as an mp3? _________________ This space left intentionally blank.

That's not to say you couldn't capture a streaming audio for later conversion to MP3. _________________ "When I became a man, I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up."- C.S. Lewis
