*Otaku powers are still stuck on from the Yu Yu Hakusho thread.*
GT was in '97.
You DBZ fans should just patiently await the live-action DBZ movie(s) we never hear any news about. _________________ "Robots don't say 'ye'."

You're right. GT aired on TV in Japan from February '96 to November '97.

Can someone please post the obligitory "Hello And Welcome To Last Week" picture that this insipid post deserves? I'm feeling lazy today. _________________ Proud creator of the Wikipedia RX-78 mobile suit series article.

Post subject: is it really 100% uncut
|
|
|
|
| I was just curious if someone who bought the dvds tell me the cartoon network arings are completly uncut because I heard that the uncut episode has swearing, blood, and nudity. I guess there is a little blood on the show but I don't remember hearing any swearing and the only nudity is gohans transformation. |

before someone who knows answers, I ask
Who cares? (You seeminly)
and,
What Does it matter? (the story wasn't changed by it at all) _________________ The problem with America is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself? |

| I am going to answer now. In gohan's transformation there was nudity. When he transforms back into his regular form after picolo blew up the moon, gohan is naked. |

There wasn't much nudity to be cut out of the early episodes of DBZ. Aside from that, my critical eye can't catch any edits. Of course, I have not seen the straight-un-edited versions, but again, so far, there appear to be no edits.
So, for the FIFTH time in this thread, THERE APPEAR TO BE NO EDITS IN THE AIRING OF DBZ. _________________ anime is teh s uck

In case anyone was wondering why they couldn't remember the robot in yesterdays DBZ airing from the first go-around years ago, there's a reason for that. That episode was entirely (or near entirely) cut out. We're seeing the first, I believe it is 67 episodes of DBZ uncut (seemingly uncut. We'll know once they're on Namek if it's really uncut. BUT NO FINAL ANSWER UNTIL THEN.) These were trimmed down to 53 episodes that we saw years go. This is, I believe, the only episode that was simply cut out in its entirety. It's a pivital episode for Gohan's character, but aside from that, has no bearing on anything.
Just thought you'd like to know that your mind isn't skitching out: you haven't seen that episode before. _________________ anime is teh s uck

| Thats good because I didnt remember it. I can see why they would have removed it. Since it really doesnt forward the plot at all. Ok so Gohan grows a tiny set of balls. But it didnt add much to the series. |

It doesn't fit Z. But it is sort of Dragon Ball-ian, in a way. It's a throwback to some of hte early episodes of Dragon Ball, what with a character that is met once and never again, yet affects the main character and helps them on their journey. It's very Toriyama. But it wasn't what Funimations was trying to push with the show back when it first aired. _________________ anime is teh s uck

Some dummy set the VCR for AM instead of PM and ended up watching an episode of Kids Next Door. So, one of the episodes I most wanted to see was missed. (Insert a Nelson Muntz "Ha-ha" here)
I have been looking at Cartoon Networks schedule for nexty week, and it looks like there will be no DBZ next week. I hope the Holiday has given them the idea to take a hiatus. I pray that they have not pulled the plug on showing all 67 episodes already and are revamping their evening schedule. If anyone knows, the 411 would be appreciated. _________________ Opinions are like A$$holes. Everyone has one. |
