Considering all the snags we've hit, and that we're only a rookie team, we did SUPER well. And pneumatics are FUN. We wanted to have our bot DONE by 8 AM last Saturday (the 20th? Maybe 21st . . . whichever) so we could go to a scrimage. We decided the Thursday before, at 5pm, that we would be adding a whole second deck and that we would be using pneumatics.
I don't know how my crew did it, but 90% of it was done for that Saturday.

I think we had problems one of the valves being hooked up backwards, then one of the motors destroyed it-self when we plugged it into the wrong port. We had everything replaced but the programming still had lots of bugs. This is only our third year competing so we arn't that new either. Good luck, maybe we'll meet at nationals. (crosses fingers)

Great work CP! You guys must have kicked some serious bot (the phrase came from a GI Joe space mecha l'm used to have). We're leaving Thursday morning for our competition. Congrats again.

Well, we lost half our matches (2 of which we lost because of our alliance partners (one partner had their bot break down in a previous match and so we were partner-less (their shooter then went on to step over the line in autonomous thus giving us a 10 point penalty that lost us the match (WE WOULD HAVE WON WITHOUT A PARTNER!)) and in the other match our partner flipped over in autonomous, leaving us without any help.) Of the other two losses, one was because the wires connecting our speed controllers were loose, and thus our driver couldn't get us up to the bar which would have won us the match.
So we had the potential to be a 7-1 team, and instead caught some tough breaks and were a 4-4 team.
But that's the way the cookie crumbles.
The top team at our regional scouted us, personally, and almost chose us as their 2nd alliance partner for the finals. They chose a team that was slightly worse than us, instead. They told us there was a discussion about it, and we were ALMOST chosen. The team went on to win the regional. So we were REALLY close to winning a regional.

So, what the hell does your robot do? If anything it should have some C4 inside to "accidentally" explode on someone.

FDD, I didn't know you knew about FIRST. I thought just Bono and FAK did, and then later found that WhtHawk did too. Are you involved at all?
